theabuseofbasichumanrights.AccordingtotheUnitedStatesHolocaustMemorial
Museum,ObserversintheUnitedStatesandotherWesterndemocraciessoonbegan
toquestionthemoralityofsupportingtheOlympicGames.Thisfactisanexampleto
whytheUnitedStatesshouldofboycottedtheOlympics.TheUnitedStateswasnotone
oftheonlycountriesboycottingtheOlympicsin1936.Therehadbeenmanyother
countriesacrosstheworldquestioningwhethertheirrightsarebeingprotected.Basic
rightswasabigproblemintheOlympicsandtheUnitedStateshadtherighttoquestion
it.
AnotherreasonwhytheUnitedStatesshouldofboycottedthe1936Berlin
Olympicsisforpoliticalreasons.TheNazipoliticalpartywasjustputintopowerbefore
thegames.HitlerspropagandawastousetheOlympicstoshowcaseGermanys
physicalsuperiority.Thepoliciesthatkeepbeingaddedtothegamesshouldntbein
thegamesinthefirstplace.Forexample,AboutNewssays,TheriseofNazipolicies
andtheevidentpersecutionofJewswithinGermany,however,madethe1936
Olympicsproblematic.ThisshowsthatthemorepoliciesaddedtotheOlympics,isjust
moreproblemsthatwillaccumulatewithinthegames.Thesepoliticalissueswerejust
onereasonfortheUnitedStatestoquestiontheOlympics.
