Becauseonedoesnothaveareligiontogivethemmoralsdoesthatmeanatheistslack
moralsothersdonot?Ordomoralscomefromeachpersonandwearebornwiththem?These
questionscouldevengobacktothequestionIsreligionrealorfake?,buttheissueathandis
thatdespitewhatreligiouspeoplethinkatheistshavetheirownmorals.Thetwosidesofthis
issuearereligiouspeopleandpeopleofnofaith(atheists),religiouspeoplebelivethattheonly
wayapersoncangetmoralsisfromfaith,andatheistsbelievethatindividualshavetheirown
moralsthatcomefromwithin.

Howsomemoralsofpeopletodayandreligiondifferissamesexmarriage.Theyinsist
thatmarriagemustbebetweenonemanandonewoman,asisdivinelysanctifiedbythebible
(Atheismteachesmoralityandethics).Thiscontradictswithoneofthemoralsofequalfreedom
wehavetoday,itgoesagainstthebibleeventhoughsomechristiansbelievegaysshouldhave
theserights.Sodoesntitseemthatwemakeourownmoralsnotthebible?Extremistreligious
moralistsopposeabortion,euthanasia,contraception,andwomensrights(Atheismteaches
morlityandethics).Allftheseissuesnowpeoplearechangingtheirmoralsabouteven
christians,intodaysnewsocietythemoralsofthebible(someofthem)arenotsocially

acceptablenow.Issuesincludinggaymarriage,womenrights,ect.areallthingsthtthebibletells
peopleiswrongbutnowlatelymoreandmorechristiansarerealizingthatsomemoralistic
valuesinthebiblearentforthem.Theseexamplesareallillustratingthatpeoplehavetheirown
moralcode.

Howcanreligionteachmorals?somepeoplesayitisthefearofthewrathofgodthat
makesthemdogoodthingandabidebythelawsect.butisthatwhattruemoralsreallyshould
be?ibelievethattruemoralscomefromoneselfandaren'tcreatedbythefearofsomething.
Peopletodayshouldknowthedifferencebetweenrightandwrong.Somechristiansclaimthat
beliefinGodwhorevealsthedivinelaw
presentsthesole(ormostreliable)basisforknowing
rightfromwrong.Thisquoteisdemonstratingthatevenifyoufeelsomethingisn'trightthat
waswritteninthebible(gaymarriageforexample)youshouldn'tquestionitbecauseitis
divinelaw.Peoplehavebeengettingtheirmoralsfromsomebookforhundredsofyearsand
nowwearestartingtonoticethatsomethingsaren'trightanymorewithreligion.Itisstartingto
getdowntoeitherreligionorreason,shouldweholdontothisoldtraditionofreligionorarewe
goingtousecommonsenseandreasonandgetawayfromit.Thiscanonlybeansweredwith
time.

Religiondoesoffermanythings,itgivespeoplethehopeofanafterlifeandameaningto
theirlives.Italsoshowsmanygoodmoralslikenotkillingandlovingyourneighborand
whateverthefuckitsays.Maybesomethingsaremisinterpretedinthebibleaswell,likewhite
southernplantationownerswhowerewhitegodlovingchristiansthoughtitwasokaytotreat

otherhumanbeingslikeslavesanditwastheirgodgivenrighttodoso.Moralslikethoseare
examplesoffuckedupinterpretationsofthebible.Nowwhenwereallygetdowntoitandlook
atallofthereligionswehaveouttherebudhism,muslim,christian,catholic,satanismect.Allof
thesepeoplebelivethattheirgodistheonetruegodandthattheirmoralsarethecorrectones
andtheywilltryandpushtheirbeliefsontoothers.Wowitalmostsoundslikeallofthe
problemswearehavinginthemiddleeastrightnowdoesntit?

Themainissueinallofthisisfindingoutwheremoralscomefrom,iftheycomefrom
religionordotheycomefrompeople.Iandmanyotherpeoplebelieveitispeoplewhocomeup
withtheirownmoralcodeandethics,Ihavealsogoneoversomeoftheproblemswiththe
moralsthatareinthebiblethatarecontroversial,likegaymarriage,andwomen'srightswhich
peoplearenowmorethaneverarefightingforthoserights.Religionhassomegoodqualities
likegivingpeoplehopewhetheritbefalsehopeornotitisstillhope,andifbelievingina
religionmakesyouabetterpersonintoday'ssocietythat'sfinebyme.Itreallyallcomesdownto
thepersonsbeliefsandwhattheychosetoputfaithin.
