Welcome to Birds Nest Restaurant, where we serve traditional Japanese Yakitori.

Yakitori translates directly into English as Grilled Bird,


however there are many different types of Yakitori skewers. Yakitori is traditionally cooked over Binchoutan (White Charcoal) that is prized
by Yakitori chefs for its high burning temperature and delicious flavour it imparts to the food. Birds Nest prides itself on its Binchoutan that
allows us to truly serve traditional Yakitori. We have imported Binchoutan and are the first traditional Binchoutan Yakitori Restaurant in Australia
Here at Birds Nest we serve a range of skewers that are traditionally offered in Yakitori Bars in Japan. We have selected the freshest produce
and all skewers are made daily and cooked to order. Skewers are normally either flavoured with Shio or Tare. Our Shio is Himalayan Salt,
which complements the Charcoal flavour and brings out the natural flavour of the ingredients. Our master sauce, Tare, is a secret recipe that
was passed down to us from a famous Yakitori Bar in Japan. The skewers are dipped into the Tare, and over time the charcoal flavour is imparted
into the sauce. Some special skewers are served with different sauces. The seasoning for each skewer is marked on the menu.

Skewers will be grilled as soon as you order and served when ready. Our Side Dishes are there to complement the skewers, and we recommend
our Rice Dishes to end the meal. In Japanese Yakitori Bars, it is traditional to eat Rice at the end of the meal.
For those with special dietary requirements, please speak with your waitperson and we will do our best to accommodate you. Our Tare is based
on a Gluten Free soy sauce but for those who have high sensitivity it is best to let us know.
For those who are happy to challenge anything, we recommend the Omakase (Chefs Selection) course.
Then sit back and enjoy our traditional Yakitori experience.
