March of Dimes Recognizes Three Inspira Nurses with Nurse of the Year Award
MULLICA HILL, NJ (December 14, 2015) Through Nurse of the Year Awards, the March of
Dimes recognizes nurses who demonstrate exceptional patient care, compassion, and service.
Whether serving as a health care provider, educator, researcher, or chapter volunteer/advisor,
these nurses have played a critical role in improving the health of New Jerseys mothers and
babies. Nurse of the Year Awards celebrate the nursing profession and creates awareness of the
recent strides made in this growing field.
This year, Inspira Health Network is pleased to announce that Sandy Lovelace, Sherry Remy,
and Reenie Sacchetti have all been honored with 2015 Nurse of the Year Awards.
This is a statewide event that acknowledges exceptional nurses and support team members by
honoring those who make a difference in the lives of so many.
Sandy Lovelace, Assistant Nurse Manager, received the March of Dimes award in the General
Medical Adult Care category. Lovelace manages 6 Pegau West, which is Woodburys acute care
of the elderly unit. She brings more than 30 years of clinical nursing experience to the patients
and staff of her unit. Lovelace is nationally certified in geriatric nursing and has expert level
knowledge in the care of oncology patient. Lovelace also participates in developing,
implementing and monitoring staffing and scheduling plans for her unit, participating in the
performance appraisal process for more than 90 nurses and support staff and reviewing
performance outcome data including analyzing patient experience and patient safety scores,
performing audits and reviews and taking part in all phases of the continual performance
improvement process. Lovelace received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University
of Delaware. While in college, she worked as a nurses aide at Inspira Woodbury and was one of
the first nurse externs for the hospital. In addition to role at Inspira, she also serves as a
moderator for the womens group and treasurer for the county womens organization.
Sherry Remy, administrative director of Emergency Departments at Inspira Medical Center
Vineland, received the March of Dimes award in the Emergency Room Care category. Remy
has 19 years of emergency department management experience. Remy has been an
administrative director of the Bridgeton, Elmer and Vineland campuses with Inspira since 2008.
Remy is directly responsible for two full service emergency departments, one 24/7 pediatric
emergency department and one satellite emergency department and a clinical decision
(observation) unit across two counties. Among her leadership responsibilities are the oversight

of patient care outcomes, patient experience ratings, and financial operations, nursing
professional development, community emergency management and response functions and
evidence based continual performance improvement. Additionally she is responsible for the
organizations pediatric emergency department operated in conjunction with specialty physicians
from DuPont Childrens Health Services (emergently ill pediatric patients). Remy received her
Associate in Applied Science Degree/ Diploma in Nursing (RN) in 1991, followed by a Master
of Science in Nursing in 2007 from Wesley College in Dover, Delaware.
Reenie Sacchetti, vice president of Clinical Services at Inspria Medical Center Woodbury
received the March of Dimes award in the Nurse Champion category. Sacchetti has been a
member of the hospitals management team since 2007. In this position, she oversees the
departments of Pharmacy, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Radiology, Respiratory
Therapy, Food and Nutrition Services, and Laboratory. Sacchetti works closely with nurses at all
levels on numerous capital projects including the development of a bariatric surgery program, the
initiation of an advanced gastroenterology diagnostic and procedure lab and the creation of a
specialty orthopedic unit. Additionally, Sacchetti has worked closely with and advocated for
patient care needs with nurses through endeavors such as the development and implementation
of the regions first breast tomosynthesis unit, the countys first emergency per cutaneous
coronary intervention program and the organizations first specialty heart failure center.
Sacchetti holds a masters degree in allied health sciences and has more than 30 years of
experience in health care. In addition to her leadership role at Inspira, Sacchetti currently serves
on the Advisory Board at Cumberland County College.
In addition to the three Nurse of the Year recipients, eight nurses from Inspira Health Network
were recognized as finalists. Finalists include: Carol Copsey, Emily Turnure, Marlene Fischer,
Sami Abate, Angela Dare, Joyce Fisher, Julie Powers, and Chris Bair.
More than 196 nurses were nominated in 19 different award categories. New Jersey award
recipients were announced at a special awards gala held on November 18, 2015 at Pines Manor
in Edison, which had a record attendance of over 500 people. At the event there were 115
finalists who represented 48 hospitals and healthcare facilities. The event raised over $90,000 to
improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
