GRADUATION ATTIRE
All seniors MUST wear the 2016 Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology designated cap, gown, and tassel in order to
participate in the graduation ceremony. You are not permitted to decorate your cap or gown. If you lose any of these
items before the ceremony, you must pay to replace them. (See Mrs. Barnes-Parkins or contact Jostens if you still need
to order a cap and gown.)
When you are robed in your cap and gown, you must adhere to the following attire guidelines:
All gowns should be neatly steamed or pressed with a cool iron. (No Wrinkles)
Young men must wear dark dress pants, a collared dress shirt, necktie, socks, and dark dress shoes. You will not be
allowed to participate in the ceremony if you wear jeans, shorts, flip flops or tennis shoes.
Young ladies must wear dark dress slacks, a skirt, or dress with appropriate dark colored dress shoes. The dress or
skirt should not fall below the hemline of the gown. You will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony if you wear
jeans, shorts, flip flops, or tennis shoes.
All caps, without any decorations/messages, should be worn with the tassel to the right until the seniors are declared
graduates, at which time they will turn their tassel to the left.
You may wear academic cords and attach club pins to your hood, and you may only wear ONE stole.
