Reflection
At the beginning of the course education technology I thought as a physical education teacher
this course was useless as we would not be using much technology as physical educators. I could
not have been anymore wrong, through this course a number of tools were taught on better ways
and methods of imparting knowledge more effectively. I found it difficult to complete tasks and
assignments in the early stages of the course because I was not properly motivated nor did I see
the importance of this course. As the progressed I developed a bond with the lecturer which
made it almost difficult to not respect the course she taught. I started paying attention more and
participating in class activities and even begun getting to like the course.
Educational technology, sometimes termed Edtech, is the area of technology that deals with
facilitating e-learning, which is the learning and improving performance by creating, using and
managing appropriate technological processes and resources. The term educational technology is
often associated with, and encompasses, instructional theory and learning theory. While
instructional technology is the theory and practice of design, development, utilization,
management, and evaluation of processes and resources for learning, according to the
association for educational communications and technology definitions and technology
committee, educational technology includes other systems used in the process of developing
human capability. Educational technology includes, but is not limited to, software, hardware, as
well as internet applications, such as wikis and blogs, and activities. But there is still debate on
what these terms mean. Technology in education most simply and comfortably defined as an
array of tools that might prove helpful in advancing students learning.

Educational technology relies on a broad definition of the word technology. Technology can be
referred to material objects of use to humanity, such as machines or hardware, but it can also
encompass broader themes, including systems, methods of organization, and techniques.
The course was centered mainly on ways in which teachers can incorporate technology to
facilitate learning effectively. A lot of different methods and ways were taught throughout the
course and at the end of this course I could safely say I am now equipped with the proper
technological knowledge to be a better teacher using technology. At first I did not enjoy this
course but however after seeing the importance not only did I see it as necessary but I enjoyed
attending class and learning more techniques.
