Border Inquiry: Immigration

Immigration, the action of permantely coming to a foreign country, but
is it really a permanent action when people have been here for years and
then deported? Why is it that a document has to define you? Or better yet
why it that since the moment someone is born they are given a number to
represent? Why it is that education and wealth is let to control us rather
than it being the other way? One thing that the United States fails to accept
is that as a nation is constantly growing The power becomes more into
chaos. Yes, the bigger the country gross the more difficult it could be to
control. Another thing the United States does not take into consideration is
denial it gives to its people for better opportunities in life, such as
inequalities and gender roles that are more likely to be given to someone
who was born in the country rather than someone who got here in a difficult
manner later to be able to represent a document known as being a resident.
This is a border that is crossed long enough with no little change to how the
past handled it with giving better opportunity to those who do not deserve it.

The numbers of immigrants from the year of 2009 till 2014 shows that
immigrant numbers have declined dramatically. Mexicans which make up
about ( 49% ) all of unauthorized immigrations have been declining in
numbers as well , Jens Manuel Krogstad and Jerrey S. Passel which say and
prove , There were 5.6 million Mexican unauthorized immigrants living in
the U.S. in 2014, down from 6.4 million in 2009, according to preliminary Pew
Research Center estimates. As the numbers decline it makes it easier for
organizations to find out where these unauthorized immigrants are settled. It
is researched that six states are accounted for ( 60% ) of where unauthorized
immigrants are populated in these states California, Texas, Florida, New
York, New Jersey and Illinois. Between the years 2009 and 2011 the
distribution of the population has shifted and moved towards other states
several East Coast states were among those with population increases,
whereas several Western states were among those with population
decreases. There were seven states overall in which the unauthorized
immigrant population increased: Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Nebraska, New
Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Meanwhile, there were 14 states in which
the population decreased over the same time period: Alabama, Arizona,
California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky,
Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, New York and Oregon. Despite a
decline, Nevada has the nations largest share (8%) of unauthorized
immigrants in its state population.

In our nation education is what is guaranteed a better future, despite

of what your background is. Immigrants which think for a better future not
only for themselves but for their children are known to make up about 17%
of recently arrived immigrants ages 25 to 64 had graduated from college
and 33% have minimal formal education (middle school or less). In 2009,
35% of recently arrived immigrants had college degrees and only 20% have
minimal educational attainment. Thus the children of the unauthorized
immigrants are known to have a ( 7% ) of at least having a parent that is
unauthorized to be here from k-12. Among these students, about eight-in-ten
(79%) were born in the U.S. In Nevada, almost one-in-five students (18%)
have at least one unauthorized immigrant parent, the largest share in the
nation. Other top states on this measure are California (13%), Texas (13%)
and Arizona (11%).
Unemployment in the United States from the year of 2009 shows how
Americans had a higher unemployment rate than those who were foreign to
the country. Thus this brings to the table of how the immigrants are the ones
who do the dirty side jobs. You would think that an American that was born
and raised in the country has a higher chance at a getting a job opportunity
rather than someone who cannot even speak the language. The term
American is often taken advantage of and unauthorized immigrants who
dont even know what the term means often find it faster than those who
have been here their entire life. In the U.S. labor force, there were 8.1 million
unauthorized immigrants either working or looking for work in 2012. Among

the states, Nevada (10%), California (9%), Texas (9%) and New Jersey (8%)
had the highest shares of unauthorized immigrants in their labor forces.
In other words immigration will either continue to decline or maybe it
will increase within the years ahead. So immigration? I believe is not the
permanent settlement of someone who is unauthorized to be here, instead I
see it as a permanent movement who unauthorized people are constantly
trying to benefit out from. It is a border in society because millions cross
every year and even if they were to try to reduce the numbers or come to
some sort of agreement, society will never truly agree to it and nor will the
people.
