Editorial
Sustainable construction criteria as a part of methodology
for evaluating the buildings are widely used in both foreign
and domestic practices. This methodology is implemented
through different certification systems and complex assessment
mechanisms which include numerous sustainable criteria,
both environmental and economic and social ones. It is
based on features which contribute to improving sustainable
characteristics of a number of aspects of problem area of
construction, amongst which water and energy savings,
ecological balance in the built environment, quality of
immediate environment, etc.
There is a plethora of research, analyses and discussions about
housing issue and organization of apartments in multifamily
residential buildings. The concept of Belgrade apartment is
designated in scientific literature as a creative and authentic type
of apartment organization in multifamily and collective housing.
However, this concept has not been sufficiently explored and
explained yet. In papers published in this issue, the authors
present their research results with the aim to confirm the thesis
on the existence of authentic concepts of Belgrade apartments in
certain periods of time. In the opinion of authors, the tendency
to the formation of a central space for family gatherings, which is
an important part of Serbian tradition, is the main characteristics
of Belgrade apartment.

Abstract
The subject of the research in wider sense is organizational-communication capacity of local communities in Serbia in the frame
of sustainable development. Along with this, the paper will explore potentialities of Faludis model of multiplanning agencies
as well as Healeys collaborative theory for better efficiency and
effectiveness of planning in the process of urban regeneration.
Specifically the paper will research relation between organizational structure of local communities in Serbia and their potentialities to provide adequate communication towards integral
information for urban regeneration. Research is framed with a
problem of efficiency and effectiveness in creating urban regeneration policies, strategies, designs, and technical solutions. The
problem will be focused to Serbian context; characterized with
inadequate, transitional, system of governance that is moving
from centralistic towards decentralist model. This will be further
explored through level and type of participation in the process of
urban regeneration. The hypothesis of the research explores the
nature of the relation between number and types of communication channels, provided by organizational structure of local
communities that should enable effectiveness and efficiency of
urban regeneration. In other words the hypothesis is: number
and types of communication channels (variable A) influences
the effectiveness and efficiency of urban planning for sustainable urban regeneration (variable B). The aims of the paper are
identification of the regulations between the variables. Expected
result is establishing the model for measuring the capacity of
local communities for integral urban regeneration.
Key words: sustainable urban regeneration, integral urban planning, capacity of local communities

Abstract
1
Methodology
of
building
evaluation
based
on
green
building characteristics is rapidly gaining momentum,
mainly in foreign, but also in domestic building practice.
,
,
This methodology is being carried out through different
.
Green Building Certification Systems, which are complex
, evaluation mechanisms based on numerous criteria of
, sustainability, addressing both ecological issues, but
also economic and social ones. Green roof represents one
(Cole, 2003).
of the must have features of contemporary buildings
, ,
aiming to gain green label. This paradigm is based on (Jovanovi .
their numerous characteristics which contribute to Popovi et al, 2008),
different aspects of building sustainability, among which
are savings in energy and water consumption, but also ,
ecological balance and quality of built environment. ,
Criteria used for evaluation of green roof solutions and
.
their overall contribution to the building, are integral
,
part of all of the mentioned certification systems, but ,
,
the way they are structured and formulated inside each
system varies significantly, hence causing differences in ,
evaluation results. This paper presents the analysis of
,
green roof related criteria of three characteristic green (Jovanovi-Popovi et al., 2009).
,
building certification systems: LEED, BREEAM and
,
CASBEE. These systems are chosen primarily because
,
of the different evaluation methodology, but also
.
,
because of their market prevalence and perspectives
of usage in the domestic practice. Conclusions driven .
from these analyses and comparisons provide insight
,
into main aspect of green roof planning and construction
,
which are relevant for the overall building sustainability
,
,
assessment.

BELGRADE APARTMENT
*, **
: 2013, : 2013.
b
The term Belgrade apartmentis related to two periods
and two phenomena: a)the concept of apartment in
: ) multiple-family buildings in Belgrade between the two .
world wars (1918-1941) and b)activities of Belgrade , ,
School of architecture, formed during the 60's and 70's
.
of the twentieth century. In order for a certain concept
(1918 1941) )
of apartment organization to be called Belgrade, it had
. -
to have clearly defined characteristics which set it apart
,
from other typology of apartments built in its immedi60- 70- XX . ate surroundings, or it had to be created in Belgrade, XIX XX ,
and then spread further. Until today it has never been
, researched or explained what these characteristics of
. .
Belgrade apartment were, as it has been defined in
scientific literature as a creative and an authentic type of
apartment organization in multiple-family buildings in
collective housing. The research discussed types of char ,
,
acteristic concepts of room organizations in apartments
built during the two periods, from 1918 to 1941 and
(1815) XX
,
1960 to 1975. The aim of the research was to prove the (Nestorovi, 1955). ,
. hypothesis on the existence of the authentic concepts of
Belgrade apartments which were designed in the men tioned periods.
, Key words: architecture, Belgrade apartment, saloon

tion, tenement.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the experiences
that Italy has had in the domain of preservation
and valorisation of the industrial heritage. By
.
.
the means of the historiographical approach, the
development of the concept of this patrimony
will be explained, starting from United Kingdom,
,
, , which was a pioneer, through France to conclude
, with Italy.
.
The concept of the industrial heritage was
.
gradually developed and it was followed with a
foundation of various institutions, which expanded
(Euston)
their activities from a cataloguing of remains of
1962. .,
the industrial past to an active participation in
,
revitalisation projects. Connected to this evolution
is the development of the industrial archaeology
. ,
as a scientific discipline which offered some
,
instruments in the valorisation of the industrial
. patrimony. Some misconceptions and errors about
,
this heritage have been put to light, and the role
,
of the architect in this process has been explained.
The analysed cases were chosen from the region
of Emilia-Romagna because it was the centre of
. the Italian sugar production and, consequently,
XIX .
possesses a big quantity of material remains.
Different experiences and scenarios, elaborated
by private and public sector will be presented, also
.
with some aspects of the heritage valorised with
,
more or less success.

Abstract
Every generation of architects in their early professional life
intensively and emotionally go through certain tendencies, turning them into. After a relatively short episode with soc-realism,
my generation was in the 60s absolutely directed towards the
international style, relating to its postulates, with or without
deeper understanding, depending on everyones abilities and
knowledge. In the 70s the dominant trend was sculptural late
modern, in the 80s it was post-modern, while in the 90s a
somewhat deconstructive trend came into fashion. However,
it has never established itself more widely, partly due to the
war, partly because of the technical and conceptual inabilities
of those who took part in construction projects. Since 2000 and
on, a wide range of so-called neo-modern has been dominant
in Serbia, initiated several decades ago by the architect Richard
Meier, with an aim of restoring early modern of the 20s, varying
it from reduced minimalism to sophisticated, sometimes even
overly ornamented plasticism, at least in terms of the exterior.
However, as for interior design, one particular tendency has
been present for decades - the inclination to integrated and
maximally open inner spaces in all architectural segments,
particularly in housing architecture. This, essentially logical and
useful inclination has very often hypertrophied, thus becoming counter productive in cases when functions of different use
were forcefully connected. In this text we aim to define some of
the basic concepts and problems in this field, as well as suggest
guidelines that might make it easier to decide on more objective
and adequate designing solutions.
