Hosted at a Level 1 Trauma Center, this ten-month clinically-focused program provided 1200 hours of supervised practice
in inpatient, outpatient, community, and management settings with over 250 didactic hours of advanced level nutrition
topics.
Clinical
Provided medical nutrition therapy and implemented the nutrition care process in a variety of settings
Completed eight weeks of intensive adult nutrition support training
Gained two weeks of experience working directly with transplant patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings
Community
Honed counseling skills from over nine weeks of experience in counseling sessions at outpatient medical facilities,
clinics, and community programs
Engaged with patients to create individualized nutrition plans in order to meet their needs without compromising
their lifestyles
Launched the Pediatric Diabetes Support Group at the University of Virginia Childrens Hospital for children with type
1 and type 2 diabetes and their families
Delivered multiple presentations to the community on topics such as Immune Health and a Heart Healthy Diet
Management
Administered surveys to collect data about employees
Designed excel spreadsheets to increase efficiency of documenting data
Led multiple meetings for kitchen staff on topics such as food safety and the power of positivity
