Spring Reflection Essay Instructions:

(Label Spring and place under the Reflection Essay tab).


This reflection essay should:a. be 1200-1500 wordsb. reflect on your broader
learning experience and educational goals.
Specifically:
i.

What insights from class this year have been most useful to you?

ii. What have you learned about your own academic goals and values over the
year (in this class and in others)
iii. How have you demonstrated inquiry in this class and in other learning contexts
this year?
iv. What have you learned about your ability to contribute informed and original
ideas to scholarly discussion?
v. What decisions, resolutions, or next steps are you making in your intellectual
and civic life?
Strengthen your observations by connecting them to assignments and experiences
from class. This essay is about what you learned this year not what you liked or
what was easy. As you write and shape your essay, think about how best to
organize it. Does it make more sense to order the information chronologically?
From struggles to breakthroughs? By type of experience? In other words, dont
just free associate. Organize your essay into a logical order that best fits the points
you are trying to make. The E-Portfoliois a requirement for all Freshman Inquiry
Courses. The portfoliois a collection of digital media files that represent your
course work and achievements. You are required to keep a portfolio of your work
for this class throughout the entire year. Your mentorwill guide you through the
process of developing an E-Portfolio during your peer mentor sessions. You will
start this process Fall Term and turn in your finished E-Portfolio at the end of
Spring Term.You can use a number of different software tools to develop your

portfolio including Google Docs, WordPress, or other tools. Your peer mentor will
be an excellent resource on this project and you will have time in peer mentor
session to work on it.(50points)
