AMOR E MITO COMO VERDADE CULTURAL E SUBJETIVA

LOVE AND MYTH AS TRUTH CULTURAL AND SUBJECTIVE

Resumo: Em Psicologia das massas e anlise do eu, Freud questiona a dicotomia entre
o individual e o coletivo, entre a cultura e a subjetividade, argumentando que o outro
est sempre envolvido na vida psquica do indivduo. Tomamos como fio condutor a
discusso empreendida por Lvi-Strauss e Lacan acerca do mito em seu papel cultural e
individual. Elegemos o amor como objeto de estudo devido a seu papel fundante no que
diz respeito constituio da subjetividade e no tratamento psicanaltico, e ao fato de
que, na psicanlise, o amor abordado a partir dos mitos de Narciso e de dipo.

Abstract: In Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego, Freud challenges the
dichotomy between the individual and the mass, culture and subjectivity, arguing that
the other is always involved in the psychic life of the individual. In order to account for
this path, we take as a guiding principle the discussion between Lvi-Strauss and Lacan
regarding myth in its cultural and individual role. We chose love as an object of study
due to its central function in the construction of subjectivity and in psychoanalytic
treatment, and the fact that psychoanalysis approaches love through the myths of
Narcissus and Oedipus.
