Introduction
State Bank of India is an Indian multinational, public
sector banking and financial services company. It is a government-owned
corporation with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra. As of 2014-15, it
has assets of INR 20,48,080 crores and more than 14000 branches, including
191 foreign offices spread across 36 countries, making it the largest banking
and financial services company in India by assets.
State Bank of India is one of the Big Four banks of India, along with ICICI
Bank, Bank of Baroda and Punjab National Bank.
It deals with the following:
1)Personal Banking
2)Agricultural/rural banking
3)NRI Services
4)International Banking
5)SME
6)Corporate Banking
7)Services

Objectives

To study the volume of business in Inward and outward Remittances in the


last 3 yrs .
To understand the credit rating according to which they give foreign
currency loans to customers
To study the number of LCs issued in the last 3 yrs and its value.
To understand the process of Exports including Pre-shipment credit in
Foreign
Currency(PCFC) and Post Shipment credit in Foreign Currency.
To understand the process of Imports.

DURATION OF STUDY

The study will be conducted for two months.

Data Collection Method


Only Secondary data is used for the project which would be provided by SBI
Electronic City Branch.

Research Methodology & Analysis


The Secondary Data will be analysed for the last 3 years and will be studied
in depth to understand the objectives narrated above.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
At the end of the project , I should be in a position to answer the following
questions :

1. Is the SBI Electronic City Branch business in Inward and Outward


remittances growing ?
2. Is the Import and Export business complying to the FEMA
Declaration?
3. Who are their highest customer in terms of Export and Import
business?

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS:


It will be based on the analysis of the data and should be throwing light on
the reasons for the decline /growth of the volume of the business in SBI and
in case of decline , as to how this decline can be stopped.
