HONORABLE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS

REGULAR MEETING
May 31, 2016
The Regular Meeting of the Honorable Board of Fire Commissioners was called
to order by Commissioner Morrison at 9:00 a.m.
Those Attending were Commissioners Morrison, Mongillo, Celentano, Mauro
(phone) Chief Black, Frank Ricci, Audrey Kramer, Kevin Reilly, Clerk.
Pledge of allegiance.
Minutes of the May 3, 2016 meeting was approved by a motion from
Commissioner Celentano and seconded by Commission Mongillo.
No Presidents none.
At this time Commissioner Morrison went to Committee Reports none at this time.
Communications none.
Long Term Sick & Injury Report explained by Chief Black.
Staff Reports-Chief Marcarelli explained that the reports were in their files.
Old Business-no old business.
New Business- Promotional tests were discussed - Paramedic test was given on
the 16th, Battalion Chiefs exam was administered. Also the Director of Training position
will be discussed.
Workshop put on by the Fire Marshals Office at the Training School was
discussed.
Personnel Matters-At this time Commissioner Morrison asked for a motion to
amend the agenda to include the Resignation of Firefighter Aaron Brantley. A motion
was made by Commissioner Celentano, seconded by Commissioner Mongillo,
unanimously passed by the board. At this time the board accepted his letter of
resignation.
Chief Black presented the Board with the Civil Service List #16-23 for Director of
Training for their acceptance. At this time no recommendation was made, Chief Black
wanted to consult with Human Resources and make sure the proper letters were sent to
the top three candidates on the list. He will promote in the near future.
Chief Black explained that he would like to have one ceremony in the near future
for other promotions hopefully in July,2016 for Battalion Chief, Director of Training and
the Marshals Office and those graduating from the State Fire Marshal Course.
He explained that the Paramedics would probably be hired around late July,
early August, 2016.
No executive session.
