How Music is used in Movie
There are many factors that contribute to a great movie such as: the actors, themes, plot
twists, the messages it tries to deliver, and a great background music. Music is used as a great
tool to establish the tone of the movie and adds an extra excitement to the scenery or characters.
An example that demonstrates the uses of music is Avatar a fictional movie made in 2009.
Throughout the movie, there are a lot of breath-taking sceneries in a planet called
Pandora. Majestic and pure music is usually displayed to add in the effect of an epic feeling in
the audience and from there, praises the beauty of the planet.
At the scene when the war between human and the native of Pandora happens, the
background music switches between intense and gloomy to fit with the mood the director wants
to achieve. When the scene displays the falling down of the native and the brutal killing of
human, terrific music combines with it and increases the sorrow. On the other hand, with the
fighting scenes between the main characters Jake Sully and Neytiri, with Colonel Miles,
intense music is added in to intensify the situation and makes the audiences look forward to the
result.
Overall, music is a great factor to make a movie becomes more interesting and engaging.
It enhances the emotions and furthermore demonstrates what is happening in the movie. A
marvelous work of choosing the right music lies in Avatar. Majestic, pure and intense music
are used at the appropriate scenes to achieve the love from the audiences.
