Hypothesis:

1. Emotional Intelligence & Work Experience

According to a research paper the emotional intelligence is not fixed genetically. It changes
largely with age as we learn through our life experiences. The research suggests that there is a
positive relationship between EI and work Experience.
Hence the null hypothesis for our project was
U0 = The Emotional Intelligence is positively associated with work experience
The data we received from our survey results are tabled below:
Work Experience ( in years)
< 1 Year

EI score
139.7

1-3 Year

142.0

3-5 Year

145.4

5-7 Year

140.5

7-10 Year

144.4

10-15 Year

135.6

Inference
We assumed that EI increases as work experience increases. However, after analyzing the
results of the survey we found out that there is little co-relation between the two. Hence we can
conclude that work Ex has no bearing on the EI. Emotional Intelligence is a trait, which is related
to personality; it is intrinsic in nature and cannot be related to Work Ex.

2. Well Being and Work Experience

A descriptive analysis of the data received from the survey gives us the following
Work Ex ( Years)
< 1 year
1 - 3 years
3 - 5 years
5 - 7 years
7 - 10 years
10 - 15 years

Well Being

Inference
A high Well Being score indicates an overall score of well being. The graph we plotted shows
that it too is independent of the age or work ex. It is high in the initial year of work life. Work ex
of 1-3 usually means that people start experiencing the work pressures and the stress that
comes with it. They become comfortable after a certain age but then because of added
responsibility and balance work-life requirements around (7-10 years) the well-being might
decrease as well. This is usual the employee life-cycle that revolves influences well-being.

3. Self-Control & Work Ex

The descriptive statistics for these parameters are
Work Ex

10 - 15 years

Self-Control

Inference
The self-control factor refers to ones degree of control over the urges and desires. We observe
in our survey that self-control increases with the increase in work-ex. This was an expected
result. A minor outlier in this case was the exp group from 5-7 years.

4. Emotionality and Work Experience

The descriptive statistics for these from the survey are tabled below.
Work Ex
< 1 year
1 - 3 years
3 - 5 years
5 - 7 years
7 - 10 years
10 - 15 years

Emotionality

Inference
Individuals with a high emotionality score possess a wide array of emotion-related skills:
recognizing internal emotions, perceiving emotions, and expressing emotions. In turn, these
skills are often used to form and nurture close relationships with family and friends. On the
contrary, individuals with a low emotionality score have difficulty recognizing their own emotions
and conveying their feelings to others The results prove that the emotionality remains more or
less the same throughout the Work Ex.

5. Sociability and work ex

The descriptive statistics for the above parameters are:

Work Ex
< 1 year
1 - 3 years
3 - 5 years
5 - 7 years
7 - 10 years
10 - 15 years

Sociability

Socialibility

Inferences
The sociability factor focuses on ones social relationships and social influence. This factor
differs from the emotionality factor in that it evaluates ones influence in a variety of social
contexts, rather than just in personal relationships with family and friends. Individuals with a
high sociability score are good listeners and effective communicators. Individuals with a low
score are not as effective at social interaction. The score of sociability decreases with the Work
Ex.
