INTRODUCTION:
Sensor Networks are networks that consists of
sensors which are distributed.
These sensors work with each other to sense
some physical phenomenon and then the
information gathered is processed to get
relevant results.

APPLICATIONS OF THE SENSOR NETWORKS:

The applications can be divided in three

categories:
1. Monitoring of objects.
2. Monitoring of an area.
3. Monitoring of both area and objects.

Where can we find the smart

sensor networks.?
Smart buildings
Transport and logistics
Industrial applications
Precision agriculture and animal
tracking

Design Challenges
The

devices deployed maybe of various types

and need to collaborate with each other.
The

sensors need to coordinate with each

other to produce required results.
The

sensors should be utilized in a ways that

produce the maximum performance and use
less energy.
The

computation should be done quickly as

new data is always being generated.

Present Scenario:
Sensor devices are becoming
widely available.
More things are being connected to
one another.
Ex:
Home/daily-life devices
Business and Public infrastructure
Health-care.

Challenges faced by the IOT:

User security.
Information Security.
Availability of the internet.
Access to the internet.

Implementation steps:
Creation

of a fully functional sensor network.

Implementation of a Gateway.
Interfacing the sensor network with the
gateway.
Creation of a html and php based web page
to access through the gateway and display
the results.
