MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Esther 7-8; Acts 5

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS

Chronological Bible Reading: Esther 9-10; Acts 6
Tuesday, June 21

Jude 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he
bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Almighty God and Savior:

Faultless! I am far from it now, but since you never stop short of
perfection, I know I get to reach it someday! I thank you for keeping me to the
end so you can present me at the last, as Paul says,
Eph. 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or
wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Oh Jesus, that you would also make __________ and __________ faultless
by washing them in your own blood until they are as fair as the purest angel
before the throne. May they see their sin, believe the gospel, and come to you to
be clothed in your righteousness, making them positively faultless and perfectly
flawless in the sight of God.
Col. 1:21-22 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by
wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you
holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
The Law should not only have no charge to lay against me, but actually be
magnified by me. Moreover, the work of the Holy Spirit inside me should make
me so perfectly holy, he takes away even my tendency to sin. Make my judgment,
my memory, my willand every passionemancipated from the power of evil.
Oh to be in heaven together with friends! Sin gone, Satan shut out,
temptation past, and myself faultless before your throne. My beauty will be as
great as that of the place you have prepared for me.
Thank you Lord Jesus, for your finished work on the cross, reversing the
curse, and giving me eternal life by faith. Thank you for your grace. Amen.

Holy Master:
It was the brilliance of divine intelligence to string all the Old Testament
ceremonies and sacrifices on one thread of thought, see all the ancient prophecies
as one unified revelation, and consider all the promises as heralding one
supernatural person. Then you could say of the whole thing, It is finished in Me.
Soaring above the Alps of agony, you had the presence of mind to
remember what was being accomplished for my salvation. Some people ask me,
How could Christ, in only three hours, bear suffering equal to the eternal
torment of hell for every man, woman, and child who is ever going to be saved?
But O Lord, no one is capable of measuring what the Son of God can do in even
one moment, much less what he might do in his life, and might suffer in his
death.
In the space of three hours you endured not only the agony contained in
centuries, but also an equivalent for what is experienced in everlasting
punishment. When Deity is arrayed in manhood, then that manhood
becomes omnipotent to suffer.
Oh, dear Lord, I do not even attempt to measure your sufferings by the
finite line of my own limited reason. Some cult groups do; that is why they deny
your virgin birth, your miraculous life, and your substitutionary atonement. And
whatever else nice they say about you, they still deny who you really aremy
God! I know, and believe, what you endured on the cross was accepted by the
Father as equivalent payment for all my sins, and for all the sins of anyone who
will believe on you now. Help me reach others with this gospel! Amen.
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 7-9; Acts 9

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Job 4-6; Acts 8
Thursday, June 23

Luke 8:41-42 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the
synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
for he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying.

ETERNAL Father, strong to save, whose arm does bind the restless wave,
Who bids the mighty ocean deep its own appointed limits keep;
O Savior, whose almighty word the winds and waves submissive heard,
Who walked upon the foaming deep, and calm amid the rage did sleep;
O Holy Spirit, who did brood upon the waters dark and rude,
And bid their angry tumult cease, and give for wild confusion peace;
O Trinity of love and powr, Your children shield in dangers hour;
From rock and tempest, fire, and foe, protect them where-so-eer they go;
Thus, evermore shall rise to Thee glad hymns of praise from land and sea.
William Whiting, 1851

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 1-3; Acts 7
Wednesday, June 22

1 Kings 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away
his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the
heart of David his father.
Holiness Is What I Long For:
It is a sad thing when a Christian does not open the sacred precincts of his
heart in his own house. He or she is profane if he has not set aside a sanctuary in
his heart. At work I may be among rivals, but surely I should be revived at home!
A house is better if it has a heart inside it. Is my home revived? Does my
family feel like I have Gods heart inside me? When I greet my friends, do they
see a soul going beyond self, enlarged in its spiritual vision, and inspiring others
into ministry for Christ? Give me such a heart! because this is the benchmark
of revival.
My heart must be right, but my heart also has to be expressed. How many
of my friends fail in this. Some people walk like saints abroad but its like dwelling
with the Devil to live with them at home. Why? Because there is contentiousness,
backbiting, jealousy, rage, evil speaking. Yet I am what I am at home. That is
the crucial test of character, and true revival. If I do not make my family happy,
and my example at home is not holy, then I am a failure of the first order and of
the worst kind. My witness is worthless. Oh, Lord!
The sooner I stop that false profession the better! I need to admit who I am
and what I have done, and seek you with humility, in a spirit of repentance. It is
at home where lack of revival does the most damage. The world is not as
much influenced by a hypocrite as my family is damaged by having one inside it!
And worse than criticizing me, my children may end up imitating me. Their
character will be fashioned on my inconsistent pattern. Help me, Lord! Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 10-12; Acts 10
Saturday, June 25

Rom. 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Psa. 106:25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the
LORD.

O Lord and Master:

In order to achieve your Eternal Purpose, we confirm all our dedications
and rededications of ourselves to you. May all our consecration be forever
ratified. Or, if any one of us did never yet sincerely give themselves up to you, we
do so now with all our trust, and from the bottom of our heart. We commit our
guilty soul into the hands of our Redeemer, so he can sprinkle it with his own
atoning blood, so he can clothe it with his own justifying righteousness, and make
usvile sinners allaccepted in the presence of a just and a holy God.
Eph. 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in
the beloved.
We appear O Father, in the presence of your justice and holiness, clothed in
the garments of your own dear Son. Make us living sacrifices to you!
Zech. 3:4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take
away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity
to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
Behold not iniquity in us to punish it. We give our souls (which have
corruption in them by nature, and much of the remaining power of sin) into the
hands of our almighty Savior today, that by his grace he may form all our powers
anew. That he may subdue every inordinate appetite. That he may root-out every
disorderly passion. That he may frame us after his own image (Col. 3:10), fill us
with his own grace, and fit us for his own glory in eternity. We hope in you,
Psa. 62:7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my
refuge, is in God.

Righteous Lord and Master:

It is a short and mostly natural step to go from unbelief to whining.
Complaint and distrust are cousins, and it is time I confessed complaining is a
great sinnot just a weaknessbecause it contains pride, rebellion, mistrust, and
a whole host of contention.
Complaining is a home sin usually practiced by complainers in their tents.
And thats a shame, because then it affects the mood and attitude of the whole
family, and is just as bad as evil in the streets. So I see Lord, why it brings you so
much grief.
Psa. 106:30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was
stayed.
In this Psalm, new sins bring new diseases. So I know now why, when your
people invent sins, you are not slow to invent chastisements. Phinehas stood up
and intervened, and so I am glad Lord, you still have your champions. Let me be
one of those who, in the worst of times, steps forward into the gap. Make my
faith perform heroics!
Psa. 106:45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the
multitude of his mercies.
May my prayer hold back your hand from judgment. May my prayer give
you a reason to show grace when chastening seems to be due. Pity us, for you
never shut out our petitions. Since you have a Fathers heart, may the sight of my
sorrows touch your soul this week after Fathers Day. Wean me from my idols so
I desire only to glorify your name. Do this for Jesus sake and glory. Amen.

off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
