Career planning
Career Planning is the systematic, ongoing process
by which one selects career goals and the
path/activities & actions to achieve those career
goals.
Organizations viewpoint, it means guiding &
counselling employees to plan their career ladders
in terms of their individual potential/capabilities
within the context of organisations needs.
It involves designing an organisational chart of
career movement/paths & growth opportunities
for employees on how they can advance up in the
organisation. (Eg: Lecturer to VC, Supervisor to GM)
Individuals who could be groomed for higher level
assignments are identified & prepared to take up
these positions.
