Assignment #3
It is nice to have a machine to check if there is an illegal person in the back of a truck,
said Karel van Kesteren, the Dutch ambassador to Bulgaria.
1. Technology today plays an important role in our society. In the article, "New Conservatism
Impedes...." we see how technology can be used as a security measure to strength the laws of
the nation. Illegal trafficking not only effects Europe, but America as well. In America there
seems to be a large influx of illegal immigrants who come to America in pursuit of work,
education and to achieve the American dream. The primary goal of America and in this case
Bulgaria, is to deters the large number of illegal immigrants who come to take the benefits of
the nation without paying their due share. Both countries, America and Bulgaria fear that this
form of illegal immigration can corrupt their vastly growing economy. I believe that everyone
deserves a right to peace place to live, but it should be done according to the rules and
regulation of the country he/she is immigrating to. Anyone can achieve their goals and
dreams, but it should be done under the correct jurisprudence and clear intentions. Bulgaria
shares its borders with many countries and has the right to secure their territory and protect it
from unidentified asylums.

2. The holocausts took the lives of many innocent Jews during WWII and also left more
than 100,000 Jews displaced. The main culprit of the holocausts was Adolf Hitler, the

leader of the German Republic and founder of the Nazi Regime. Adolf Hitler wrote Mein
Kamp, a book on the hatred of inferior races and the supremacy of the Arian race. Hitler
objective was to take full control of the world and wipe out all other races that went
against his goals and objectives. This hatred of Jews also spread to Italy where Benito
Mussolini spread fascist ideologies in order to gain public support. With the Mussolini as
a partner, Adolf Hitler felt confident he could take over the world and spread his political
tyranny. Although Adolf Hitler died, his ideologies are still vicariously living through
many extremist around the world.
3. The severity of the holocausts is very tragic and will go down in history as one of the
most shocking events to take place. Over 2 million Jews were killed, tortured and held as
political prisoners. Adolf Hitler was known to be a very charismatic speaker who
indoctrinated all of Germany under the Nazi idea of excluding of Jews. Hitler was very
successful in becoming a political figure and spreading hate because of the severe
economical crisis Germany was facing post WWI. Many Jews faced a tough life working
in camps to stay alive and some suspected political prisoners were put to death by
gassing. The inhumane actions of Hitler caused an outrage from the global community
and eventually caused his demise. The memorial of holocaust survivors and passed Jews
are still viewed by many tourist as a symbol of political oppression and social prejudice.
