Writing strategies
Writing is one of the productive skills where learners produce the language written In
English this includes knowledge of grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. For achieve
the FCE writing exam there are some strategies we can apply and use like linking words and
phrases , answering essay questions properly in writing exams, inference sentences ,
brainstorming ideas for essay in FCE exams and supporting ideas that help us to develop
writing skill and do a better essay, letter, email, report, etc.
Linking words and phrases with this strategy we can link or connect ideas within sentences
and paragraphs in writing. For example in the following writing I wrote some linking
words like eventually that shows a sequence and although, but, even though contrasts
ideas. So it helps us to write the review.
Answering essay questions properly in writing exams the strategy is that we have to
write the answers in the essay properly. In the following example we can see the questions
required. Then we have to answers them in order that questions are.
Inference sentences this strategy help us organizing and structuring our ideas and
gives us a visual of what each paragraph of our essay will include. For example, we are going to
write about caring for the elderly, jobs and our own idea in the essay in that order.

exams This strategy help us writing as many words or phrases as we can think about a topic.
For example, for essays FCE provides two ideas about what we have to write, then we just need
to think about in third idea and it can be old people volunteer work, because we are talking
the old people contribution. So in that way work this strategy help us develop ideas about any
topic.
Supporting ideas this strategy helps us in order to write in a logical sequences and
supporting them because the text ask for supporting ideas. For example we have the first
sentence in color green. Then the follow sentence is the supporting idea, which is in color
purple.
