Letter of Intent
Thank you for your application for the English-taught Marketing Management
programme at Business Academy Aarhus.
We are pleased to offer you a place on the programme on the condition that:

You return the enclosed Student Contract signed by you


Your payment of the compulsory hand-out materials fee of EUR 205 (DKK

Your send us a copy of your matriculation certificate from high school, including marks (only if we have not received it already)
Your marks are not significantly lower than those stated in your application

Having received all this, we will send you a final letter of admission by 30 July 2016.
The study programme begins on Monday, 29 August 2016 and is scheduled to conclude in June 2018.

Student contract
Enclosed you will find a Student Contract. Please read, sign and return the contract
by 20 May 2016 at the latest. The contract may be returned by ordinary mail or by
e-mail to apply@baaa.dk. Please remember to send all four pages.

Hand-out materials fee


Students are required to pay a non-recurrent hand-out materials fee of EUR 205
(DKK 1,530) due for payment 20 May 2016.
The student will receive a ticket as a receipt for the payment.

Laptop
The student is required to bring a laptop for classes.

Student card
A student card will be issued to you shortly after semester start.

Insurance
Please note that students from certain countries need to take out insurance
covering the first 6 weeks in Denmark. Go to our website www.baaa.dk and under Study
at Business Academy Aarhus choose Insurance. Here, you can read more about the
rules regarding health insurance.

Residence and work permit


As an EU/EEA citizen you need an EU/EEA Registration Certificate for stays of more
than 3 months. You must apply for this at the local county authority
(Statsforvaltningen) in Denmark. You must bring your final admission papers from
us. You cannot apply in advance from your own country!
As a student from an EU member country you are allowed to work in your spare
time. When applying for the EU/EEA Registration Certificate in Denmark, a work
permit for spare time jobs will be included.

Accommodation
In order to be registered on the waiting list for accommodation, please visit
www.studenthousingaarhus.com and register your details. The student residences
offer different accommodation types (flat, room, etc.) at different prices, so if you
would like the price not to exceed a certain amount, e.g. DKK 2,000, you should
state this in your application. Please apply for accommodation as soon as possible.
The sooner you are willing to pay for accommodation, the bigger chance of getting
a room.
Please note that only Ravnsbjergkollegiet (area South 1) and Skjoldhjkollegiet
(area West 2) offer furnished rooms.
It is important that you do not travel to Denmark without having secured a place to
live as our academy does not have its own student residence.

Student Contract
Terms and conditions for full-degree students enrolled at
Business Academy Aarhus

This Student Contract contains information about the study programme and Business Academy Aarhus, hereinafter called BAAA, including the financial conditions
and other payment arrangements attached to the programme.
At the BAAA website www.baaa.dk, students can find information about visa regulations, accommodation, living costs, health insurance etc.
Starting the studies
In connection with the study start, BAAA will:

Welcome the student to the programme on an Orientation Day


Give the student access to the learning platform Fronter and introduce the
student to the system
Appoint specific persons responsible for day-to-day contact, information and
assistance
Appoint an older student as buddy

Active participation
It is the students responsibility to attend the activities, which are a part of the study
programme, including scheduled classes, group work, projects and case studies. It
is essential that the student is able to work in groups. Certain semester activities
are compulsory.
The student is expected to be prepared for and participate actively in all study
activities and be there on time.
If the lecturers register lack of activity, BAAA will invite the student to a meeting.

Curriculum
The study programme is pre-defined, structured and regulated by a curriculum that
is valid for the students entire period of study. The curriculum of the programme is
available on our website. The curriculum informs the student about the structure,
subjects, requirements and examinations forming the framework of the studies.
The only official language used in the classroom by teachers and students is English.
The student must pass all examinations of the study programme in order to proceed
to the next semester. If a student fails an examination, the student is entitled to re-sit
the examination. A re-examination counts as a full examination. For each examination, the student has a maximum of three attempts. Students who fail an examination
three times must terminate their studies.
After successful completion of all examinations of the study programme, the student will receive a diploma from BAAA. This diploma is recognised by the Danish
State and can be used as accreditation for further academic studies.
Expenses
All expenses related to the studies at BAAA are to be paid for by the student,
including books, paper, pencils and other study related materials. The student must
cover all expenses for accommodation, food, transportation, textbooks, materials,
field trips and excursions.
The student is required to bring a laptop for classes with required software.
Living costs
BAAA estimates an expense of approximately DKK 60,000 70,000 per year
(exchange rate: 7.5 DKK = 1 EURO) for living costs. Especially accommodation is
expensive, minimum DKK 2,500 a month per person. Besides, the student must pay
a deposit for the accommodation, which typically equals three months rent. Students should also budget with extra expenses to getting started in Denmark.
Tuition fees
The Danish government pays for tuition for EU/EEA students.

Materials fee
Before final admission, students are required to pay a compulsory materials fee of:
EUR 155:

- Multimedia Design and Communication
EUR 205:
- Marketing Management
EUR 155 of the fee covers e.g. orientation day arrangement and social and
professional activities. The remaining EUR 50 for the Marketing Management programme covers part payment for the second semester study trip.
Students at Bachelors top-up programmes at BAAA pay a materials fee when
commencing their programme.
The fee covers e.g. handouts, orientation day arrangement, student card and social
and professional activities.
The student must pay the materials fee as described in the Letter of Intent. This is a
non-refundable fee and it will be lost in the event that the student fails to appear in
Denmark to attend the programme.
Accommodation
BAAA recommends students to apply for accommodation through
www.studenthousingaarhus.dk. The student can apply up to six months prior to
study start, and BAAA recommends applying early and accepting what you are offered. It is the students own responsibility to find accommodation.

General aspects
The student must comply with BAAAs school regulations, the laws of Denmark and
general rules of good behaviour and conduct. The student will be held
personally responsible in case of breach hereof.
Any student who proves to be unable or unwilling to perform the studies as
required during the programme will be held responsible. This may include being
excluded from the programme and BAAA and having to return to the home country
at own expenses. In case of exclusion, no part of the materials fee will be refunded.
It is the responsibility of the student to obtain and pay for his/her personal
passport, EU/EEA residence certificate, flight tickets, reservations etc., enabling
him/her to commence the programme on time.
BAAA does not carry any liability regarding the students health or personal property. The student is advised - at his/her own expense to insure his/her personal
property against loss, theft or damage.
When applying for the EU/EEA Registration Certificate in Denmark, a work permit for
spare time jobs will be included. BAAA does not have any responsibility as regards
the students possibilities of finding a spare time job.
