Withoutsplitvaluation,materialsarevaluedatplantlevel.
Withsplitvaluation,thesamematerialnumberataplantcanhavedifferentstockquantityandvaluefordifferentgroupings(calledvaluationtypes).
Thevaluationtypesaresetupinconfigurationcouldbeforexample:
newd,oldor
GB,US,AU,...(indicatingcountriesforexample)
red,blue,black,etc....(indicatingcolorsforexample)
Thevaluationtypsaregroupedtogetherinavaluationcategory
Soforexample,theabovevaluationtypescouldbegroupedbyage,country,color.
Amaterialisactivatedbyenteringthevaluationtypeintheaccountingviewofthematerialmaster.
IMPORTANT:ItispossibletochangeavaluationcategoryifnostockandPOwerecreated.However,onceaValuationcategoryisassigneditcan
notbeunassigned(makeblankagain).Soitisnotsomethingthatgetchangedatwill.Itneedstobedecidedoncreationofmaterial.
