to the present.

For the first six-weeks of


the school year, the unit
we are going to focus on
will be the history of the
United States from 1877
to 1920.

and people: The SpanishAmerican War, The Second Industrial Revolution,


American expansionism,
World War I, and social
issues affecting woman,
Native Americans, minorThis time frame will include the following events ities and children.

Tips to be successful

Keep an up-to-date
planner of all assignments.
Study regularly each
day. Study for 40
minutes and then take
a 20 minute break.

Repeat 3 times daily.

Start assignments
when given them. Do
not wait until the
night before a major
assignment is due
Ask for help. Closed

mouths do not get fed.

Be active. The more


your blood is flowing,
the easier it is to learn.

Get 8 hours of sleep


every night, especially
before a test.
