Basketball is one of my favorite team sports, because it is fun and
involves many people with different personalities. Meanwhile, it also
encourages me to interact and get along with team members.
In school, I represent the Society of Accountancy in joint-society
basketball competitions. In order to achieve a good result in the
basketball competitions, I always have regular trainings during the
weekdays. The trainings not only provide me basketball skill but also
develop my social skill and build team spirit. It also instills me the
value of unity and cooperation. Therefore, I do believe the above

you belong.

I am now the board committee of Beacon Hill Leo Club. I have been
a director a year ago. My major duty was to coordinate the voluntary
service. So, I, together with the effort of my committee members,
organized a Children Caring Programme last summer. It aimed at
serving the root family. We have organized a series of problembased learning and different outings to widen those childrens
horizon. Currently, I have been switched to Treasurer who is a
representative of our club in the Leo Club District Meeting. I
successfully requested sponsorship from our Lions Club in the Leo
Club District Meeting.
In my university, I was a founding member and the External Vice
President of a student society Students in Free Enterprise. My
society was operating a social enterprise about Chinese culture last
year. Our enterprise acts as a middleman between some Chinese
traditional snack shop and their target customers. We organized
several successful workshops and exhibitions which has aroused the
attention from media.
Moreover, I am a member of WoFoo. In December 2010 and
February 2012, I participated in the Shunde and FoShan Service Tour
organized by Wofoo respectively. We organized community services
to local people such as visiting the disabled, delivering care to them
and introducing Hong Kong culture to them. This was an invaluable

I was the Deputy Secretary General of Hong Kong United Youth
Association Student Exchange Network, a non-profit association with
membership over 1000 from students in different universities in
Hong Kong. I have participated in organizing the HKUYA New Youth
New World Summer Internship 2011 which contained a series of
activities. For example, in February 2011, I organized two sections of
Internship Information Day in Chinese University of Hong Kong and
City University of Hong Kong respectively. Following this, I also
coordinated an interview day for the internship programme in Hong
Kong Baptist University in March 2011.
More importantly, I understand that active communication can
enhance mutual understanding between my committee members
and me. It also provided ample opportunities for me to develop my
organization, problem-solving and time management skills.
Moreover, I am a member of Young Men's Christian Association and
WoFoo. I participated in Be a Hero Caring Mission Carnival which
was organized by YMCA. I spent a funny day with my friends and
children from the minority including South-Asia and Pakistan. In April
2010, I participated in the Sichuan Service Tour which is organized
by Hong Kong Baptist University and funded by Wofoo Foundation. I
was assigned as group leader during the 9-day tour. We organized
community services to local people such as visiting the victim,

delivering care to them and introducing Hong Kong culture to them.

This was an invaluable for me and I have learnt that It is better to
give than to receive.

Q. What factors have influenced your career choice?

Tips:
Why do you want to be an Accountant/Tax Consultant? Is it because
you have heard something good about it from your friends, relatives
or professors? Or have you tasted this job and found it to be
relevant to your interest, skills and ability?
Whatever the reason is, show that you have made an informed
choice after making an effort to find out some information about the
profession.
I first became interested in Auditing during my first spring internship
in 2011, when I joined the auditing team and assisted colleagues in
an audit project of a listed company. During the internship period, I
gained an invaluable experience in the workplace which strengthens
my communication skills and self-confidence. Importantly, it gave
me an opportunity to enhance understanding of the Accounting
field. This helps me to work with passion and excitement in KPMG.
In addition, promotion opportunity is also an important factor when I
consider choosing my future career. I want to be Accountant
because the position contains interesting and challenging job
opportunities which provide invaluable experience to me and steer
my career towards management position. I believe working in KPMG
can train me up as a Professional Accountant.

Q. Outline your career ambitions and objectives.

Tips:
Career Ambitions
This is your vision and desire to be able to achieve something
ultimately e.g. to be a well-known tax consultant in x years, to start
your own business...etc It can be a dream that goes beyond your
anticipated capacity for the time being.
Career Objectives
Career objectives should be more realistic which can be attained in
the near future. This can be either occupational competency or
responsibility, i.e. what you would like to be able to do in near
future, or what responsibility would you like to have.
Your career ambitions and objectives should be consistent and interrelated.
I am interested in pursuing my career as an accounting profession
and I think working in an international accounting firm is a good
start. KPMG is one of the largest professional accounting firms and it
provides me with a good background to achieve remarkable
success. I aspire to pursue a professional career in KPMG not only
the broad career path but also the efforts to provide professional
training and satisfying resources to help me excel in projects, time
management and communication skills.

Apart from that, KPMG is a good workplace for me to be a person

who has the positive attitude, an open mind, and work hard. With
the support from KPMG, I am confident that I my ultimate goal will
come true very soon.

Question5 - At KPMG our global values guide the way that we

interact with each other and help to create our open, friendly and
supportive culture. Please tell us about a situation where you have
used two of KPMG's values to achieve a positive outcome.*
In my own experience, the two of KPMGs values came across my
experience of being the External Vice President of Students in Free
Enterprise - HKBU. I understand interaction is very important within
an organization. From my point of view, everyone is unique and their
opinions should be respected, respecting people is the easy way to
gain respect of them. In the coordination of workshops and
exhibitions, we do encourage interaction among committee
members and believe that better performance is the result of
working under a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
In addition, my committee members and I share a common goal
with each other and we work together to contribute on the same
goal. Sometimes, we do have different opinion from others, but we
are all open to suggestion and respect with each other. I believe
KPMG also do the same efforts to encourage interaction and create
friendly culture at work to achieve better performance.
