The Insecticidal Potential of

Chili Pepper Leaf Extract

Against Termites or Ants
Introduction:

The chili pepper is a favorite spice of

many people around the world including the
Philippines. Peppers have health-sustaining
properties as well. They have been found to
have rich vitamin A and C contents.
Termites are a common problem
every where.They cause
destruction in anything
made of wood.
Ants are also problem because
they bite 。
Objectives:
*To find out if the extract from chili pepper
leaves have any insecticidal effect on insects.
*To have only one concentration of the
solution will be used for testing.
*To prepare a fresh chili pepper leaves for
alternative in killing termites or ants.
WHAT ARE THE MATERIALS
NEEDED?!
Materials:
*2 containers
*20 ants
*termites {can`t find one}
*mortar and pestle
*fresh chili pepper {1 gram}
*30 mililiters of water
HOW TO MAKE ONE!
Procedures:
*The leaves were dried in the oven until
it becomes brittle.
*The leaves were then crushed and
ground into fine powder using the mortar
and pestle.
*Then the powdered chili pepper leaves
were mixed with water.
*The mixture was boiled and then
strained and filtered.
*Filtrate was temporarily stored inside a
refrigerator.
OBSERVATION…
We observe that when Ants bite, the
person began to itch and the skin
being bitten turns bulgy and red.

That’s why we made this experiment,

…when we already tested our product
on the Ants they were just like
shaking. But minutes past, some Ants
were dead but some are alive!
“RESULT”…

Our experiment isn’t successful enough,…

because when we tried our product,… it
wasn’t able to kill the Ants totally!>>>
“CONCLUSION”

We therefore conclude that not all

insects will be killed with the use of
the extract of the chili pepper leaf.
Only those insects that are low in
immune system or should we say not
that healthy enough, to fight back
against the bacteria they are facing
on.
