The story of Desirae Almadra, who overcame obstacles to get an education and become a lawyer, was shared to inspire others. Community colleges receive only 7% of their funding from tuition, relying mainly on property taxes, but as property values fall so does this funding. The governor proposed a 2% increase for community colleges, but further cuts are expected as the state budget has been cut by 18% over

She made an impression on other people’s lives b/c she influenced them to get an education. Tuition only pays 7% of cost to run school Property tax usually funds school; but since prop. Tax has gone down b/c prop. values falling.
