Researching and Representing:
a. Rembrandt’s paintings are interesting; they are in dark colors
and in shadows. Most of his paintings were inspired from passages
from the Bible like “The Return of The Prodigal Son” or “The
Archangel Leaving The Family of Tob”.

Do the people in his portraits resembles the people

you imagine in Bradstreet’s world?
The people’s clothing in “The Anatomy Lecture of Dr. Nicolaes
Tulp” resembles the people I imagine in Bradstreets works, they are
not identical, but they are very similar. The persons wear black and
white clothes, just like the puritans, and they are working in a
scientific experiment.

b. Simplicity vs. Extravagance

Puritans love simplicity; they were very straight in their thinking
way. Everything was as God said in the Bible and period. They didn’t
wear tremendous outfits like the ones the King’s court used to use.
In the other hand, extravagance is all in excess, is the waste of
money and resources. The results are amazing, just like the Taj Mahal
in the India.
If I have to choose between the simplicity of Puritans and the
extravagance of the Taj Mahal, I will choose the extravagance, not
only because it took my attention, also because you can enjoy the art
and also the magnificent structure in front3 of my eyes. I personally
prefer extravagance, because in simplicity many things cannot be
appreciated as good as the ones that are extravagant.
