It's difficult to do so by their appearances.

不 过 我 们 可 以 通 过 它 们 的 鸣 叫 声
But we can tell the differences from their calls

yǐ jí míng jiào shí de zī tài lái fēn biàn cí xióng 。

以 及 鸣 叫 时 的 姿 态 来 分 辨 雌 雄 。
the the postures when they call.

dà niú ： nà yí dìng shì cí hè jiào qǐ lái gèng hǎo tīng yì diǎn 。

Female birds must sing more melodiously.

Another salient feature of the birds is that

"zhong zhen bu yu" is an expression which means to be loyal to one another until death.

Normally it takes two to three years

for a young crane's comb to become red, indicating the crane has matured.

What happens after they have matured?

chéng nián yǐ hòu jiù yào kāi shǐ jiāo pèi 、 fán zhí le 。

After they have matured, they'll begin to mate and breed their young.

red-crested cranes will fly to Zhalong to breed their young.

That's the white crane. And still another kind.

zhè zhǒng ā ， jiào huī guàn hè 。

这 种 啊 ， 叫 灰 冠 鹤 。
This is called gray-naped crane.

dà niú ： xiǎng bú dào zhè lǐ néng kàn dào zhè me duō zhǒng hè 。
大 牛 ： 想 不 到 这 里 能 看 到 这 么 多 种 鹤 。
I didn't expect many kinds of cranes here.

hán jiā ： duì ā ， shì jiè shàng yí gòng yǒu shí wǔ zhǒng hè 。
韩 佳 ： 对 啊 ， 世 界 上 一 共 有 十 五 种 鹤 。
Yeah, there are a total 15 kinds of cranes in the world.

zài zhè lǐ ne ， wǒ men jiù néng kàn dào liù zhǒng 。

And here we can find six of them.

So Zhalong is China's biggest nature reserve for cranes.
