GENERAL EXPLANATION

T his parts catalogue is to be used for all Land-Rover vehicles, to both Home and Export specifications; it is divided into three sections as follows;-

Section I, covers all items used on the Standard 1948-51 models; Section II, covers all items used on the Standard 1952-53 models;

Section Ill, includes all the Extra Equipment that can be supplied, together with items used on special vehicles The parts listed in this Section cover all models 1948-53.

Each Section is complete in itself and contains an Index to Sections, General Index and Numerical Index The part number quoted is always common to all the models covered by the section in question unless otherwise stated, in which case differences are noted in the Remarks column

NOMENCLATURE. As the list covers both Home and Export models, reference is made throughout the text to the "left-hand" (LH.) and "right-hand" (R H) sides of the vehicle, rather than to "near-side" and "off-side" The "[elt- hand side" is that to the left hand when the vehicle is viewed from the rear; similarly, "left-hand drive" (L H D.) models are those having the driving controls on the left-hand side, again when the vehicle is viewed from the rear

ASSEMBLIES are printed in CAP IT ALS, and all the parts comprising that assembly are shown by indenting the alignment of the description column, the indentation reverting to the original alignment when the assembly is complete The indentation is clearly shown by the numbers 1, 2, 3,4 at the top of each page.

It will be seen that the FRONT COVER ASSEMBLY includes the dowel and oil seal for front cover (indentation 1), while the joint washer, by reverting to alignment with FRONT, is excluded from the assembly

In all cases where the entire assembly is required, quote only the assembly number.

SIZES OF BOl TS AND NUTS are B S F except where otherwise stated, and bolt lengths shown are the under-head dimension Bolts which differ in any way from standard KS F, Whitworth or B.A specification are indicated as "special"; in such cases common stock cannot be used for replacement

USE OF THIS PARTS LIS T It is suggested that for convenient use of this list, reference should first be made to the appropriate illustration; identification of the part required will then immediately transfer attention to the text by means of the plate reference number This system will be found particularly effective with regard to the smaller items; major assemblies, etc, may, of course, be found directly by using the subject index on the following pages ..

The plate reference numbers in the left-hand column of the text are only for convenience in the use of the book, and should not be quoted on orders for spare parts

Ce Catalogue des pieces de rechange doit Hre utilise pour recherche! le numero des pieces desirees pour taus les vehicules Land-Rover, specifications "Home" (Marche interieur) et "Export" (Marche exterieur). Cet ouvrage est fractionne en trois parties bien distinctes r+:

Premiere Partie, representant toutes les pieces utilisees sur les modeles de base 1948-5l. Deuxieme Partie, representant toutes les pieces utilisees sur les modeles de base 1952-53. Troisieme Partie, representee par tous les accessoires supplernentaires qui peuvent etre fournis

ensemble avec 1es pieces utilisees sur les vehicules speciaux.

Chaque Partie est complete en elle-rneme et comprend une Table des Matieres des Sections, une T able des Matieres Generale et un Index des Numeros de Pieces.

Le nurnero de la piece est commun a tous les rnodeles groupes sous la section en question, a moins que la piece ne soit de designation speciale. En pareil cas, les differences sont notees dans la colonne des observations.

NOMENCLA lURE

Dans ce catalogue, nous avons recours a la specification droite et gauche, droite et gauche etant definis par rapport a la position qu'occupe le conducteur lorque celui-ci est assis au volant de son vehicule.

Les ENSEMBLES sont irnprimes en lettres MAJUSCULES et toutes les pieces comprises dans un ensemble sont indiquees en deplacant la designation de ces pieces d'une colonne vers la droite par rapport a la position qu'occupe la designation de l'ensemble. Lorsque cet ensemble est complet, la designation de la piece suivante est ramenee a l'alignement originel, c'est-a-dire vers 1a gauche. L'alignement des designations est clairernent montre par les numeros 1,2,3,4, en haut de chaque page.

L'on remarquera que l'ensemble "FRONT COVER ASSEMBLY" cornprend les pieces "Dowel locating front cover" et "Oil seal for front cover" (colo nne 1), tandis que la piece suivante "Joint washer for front cover" est exdue de I'ensernble, la designation de celle-ci etant ramenee en ligne avec l'ensemble "FRONT COVER ASSEMBLY".

Lorsqu'un ensemble complet est desire, il suffira d'indiquer le numero de l'ensemble

Sauf indications contraires, LES DIMENSIONES DES BOULONS ET ECROUS sont donnees en BSF; la dimension specifiee pour chaque boulon represente la longueur du corps de ceux-ci Les boulons qui different de la specification standard BS.F., Whitworth ou B.A, sont indiques comme etant de designation speciale ; dans ces cas particuliers, des boulons ordinaires ne peuventetre utilises pour les remplacer.

COMMENT SE SERVIR DE CE CATALOGUE

POUt faciliter la recherche d'une piece, il est recommande de la situer en premier lieu sur 1a planche descriptive convenable puis de rechercher dans le texte la designation et le numero de celle-ci, en utilisant le numero de repere trouve sur la planche a proximite de la piece Cette methode facilitera grandement la recherche des petites pieces; les principaux ensembles peuvent evidemmenr HIe recherches directernent au moyen de la table des matieres,

L'objet des numeros de repere figurant dans la colonne de gauche, est de faciliter l'emploi de ce catalogue et ne doivent pas etre indiques sur les bons de commande

DANS LA PASSATION DES COMMANDES, IL ESl INDISPENSABLE DE:

(1) Donner le NUMERO DE LA PIECE ou de L'ENSEMBLE, Ia DESIGNA nON COMPLE IE DE CHAQUE PIECE ainsi que le NUMERO DU VEHICULE a laquelle la piece est destinee

Especificando todos los articulos emp1eados en los modelos Standard 1948-51; Especificando todos los articulos empleados en los modelos Standard 1952~53; Inc1uye el equipo adicional que puede ser suministrado, asi como articulos empleados en los vehiculos especiales. Las piezas especificadas en esta secci6n se refieren a

todos los modelos 1948-53.

Las Secciones son cornpletas y contienen un Indice de 1a Seccion, Indice General, e Indice Nurnerico

El rnirnero de pieza citado es siempre corrnin a todos los modelos a que se hace referencia en la seccion, a menos que se indique de otra forma, en cuyo caso, dicha diferencia esta anotada en la columna titulada "Remarks" (Observaciones].

NOMENCLA TURA. Como la lista se refiere a modelos Nacionales y de Exportacion, la referencia en el texto se hace a vehiculos con volante a la izquierda (L H) y volante a 1a derecha (R H.). El costado Izquierdo del vehiculo es aquel que queda situado a la mano izquierda cuando se ve el vehiculo desde su parte posterior; los vehiculos con volante a la izquierda son aquellos que tienen los mandos de 1a direccion a la izquierda, tarnbien cuando el vehiculo se ve desde la parte posterior

Los CONJUN TOS van impresos en MA YUSCULAS y todas las piezas que comprenden dicho conjunto quedan indicadas pOI espaciados 0 desplazamientos de la alineacion de Ia columna descriptiva i el espaciado vuelve a la a1ineaci6n prirnitiva cuando el conjunto queda terminado, EI espaciado se aprecia con toda claridad pOI la numeraci6n 1,2,3,4 en la parte superior de cada pagina

Se podra observar que el FRONT COVER ASSEMBLY induye el "dowel" y el "oil seal" para la cubierta delantera (espaciado 1) mientras que la "joint washer", pOI volver a 1a a1ineaci6n con la palabra FRONT, queda excIuida del conjunto

En todos los cases donde se requiere un conjunto complete, citese solamente el numero del conjunto LOS IAMANOS DE PERNOS Y TUERCAS son de BSF, excepto en los casos en que se indique 10 contrario, e1 tarnafio del perno es el de la longitude del esparrago del mismo, Los pernos que varien de los especificados par la BSF, Whitworth, a BA, son indicados como tipos "especiales"; en tales casos no se pueden emplear para el recambio los que haya en existencia.

abrangendo todas as pecas usadas nos modelos Standard de 1948-51; abrangendo todas as pecas usadas nos modelos Standard de 1952-53;

que inclue todos os acessorios extra que podern ser fomecidos, bern como as pecas usadas em veiculos de modelo especial. As pecas especificadas nesta Parte referem-se

a todos os mode1os de 1948 ate 1953.

As differentes Partes do catalogo sao completas em sepal ado, cada uma dispondo de um Indice proprio, urn Indice Geral e de urn fndice Numerico.

Como este catalogo se refere igualmente a modelos do Mercado Interno e de Exportacao, faz-se sempre referencia no texto aos lados esquerdo (L.H.) e direito (RH.) do vefculo, sendo 0 primeiro 0 que fica do lado da mao esquerda quando se olha para 0 veiculo da parte traseira Os veiculos com volante a esquerda (L.HD.) sao aque1es que tern os comandos da direccao do lade esquerdo, tambern quando se olha para 0 veiculo da parte de tras,
