A. STATIC ANALYSIS

Computation of Static Design Base Shear done by Program using the following formula,

Static Base Shear : V = ( Cv I / R T ) W ( Design Base Shear )

should be less than,

Vmax = ( 2.5Ca I / R ) W ( Maximum Design Base Shear )

should be greater than,

Vmin = 0.11Ca I W ( Minimum Design Base Shear )

where :
Seismic Zone Factor, z = 0.15 ( Zone 2A )
Soil Profile Type, S = SC ( Very Dense Soil and Soft Rock )
Ca = 0.18 ( Acceleration Seismic Coefficient )
Cv = 0.25 ( Velocity Seismic Coefficient )
Importance Factor, I = 1.0 ( Special Occupancy Structures )
Overstrength Factor, R = 5.5 ( Building Frame System / Shear Wall / Concrete )
Structure Period, T = Method B ( Program Calculated )
Seismic Weight, W = Wd (Dead load only)

B. DYNAMIC ANALYSIS

Computation of Dynamic Design Base Shear done by Program using the UBC ' 97 Response
Spectrum curve with the following site specific values,

Soil Profile Type, S = Sc ( Very Dense Soil and Soft Rock )

Ca = 0.18 ( Acceleration Seismic Coefficient )
Cv = 0.25 ( Velocity Seismic Coefficient )

Damping Factor = 0.05

Modal Combination : CQC ( Complete Quadratic Combination )
Directional Combination : SRSS ( Square Root of the Sum of the Squares )

WIND LOAD;
CODE REFERENCE : ASCE-2002

Computation of Design Wind Pressure done by Program using the following data:
Method 2-should be used
Basic wind Speed ( V ) = 45 m/sec =(105 mph)
Exposure category = C
Importance factor ( I ) = 1
Directional factor ( Kd ) = 0.85
External pressure coefficient (Cp) = 0.8 / 0.5 windward /leeward
Topograghical factor (Kzt) = 1
Gust factor = as per ASCE code
the four wind load cases stated in the code are considered

Note: P-Delta effect to be considered-3 iterations
