WHAT DOES ‘BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY’ MEAN?

• When you discuss or show records of any detail relating to:

• Children/families

• Staff

• Employer

• Outside of the working environment

IF YOU DO, YOU BREACH CONFIDENTIALITY

If you share information with someone in your work place who is not directly involved with
e.g. a child, you are also in breach of confidentiality.

A BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY IS A SERIOUS OFFENCE AND COULD RESULT IN

YOU LOSING YOUR JOB.
