Patterns and provision of antenatal care have changed enormously in recent

and require little formal medical input. For them, pregnancy is a physiological

Initially produced by the RCOG to provide opportunities for career grade staff
participating in the RCOG`s CME programme to `earn` CME credits from their
home base by completing the MCQ `test` which accompanied each Review. It
became swiftly apparent that there was great demand for the Reviews from
colleagues around the world, from professionals working in sister disciplines, and
from those still training to become obstetricians and gynaecologists. The reviews
cover aspects of clinical practice which are of current interest - they present a
brief overview and are not to considered definitive reviews or guidelines but

The philosophy of the book builds on that of previous editions, namely coverage divided

biology, day case surgery, the second covers physiology and reproductive medicine and the third covers
