SER LÍDER & A EMPRESA
Um alvo a abater e a homenagear
Nos dias de hoje, dificilmente encontramos dirigen-
tes que lutam pelo bem comum de uma colectividade... Di-
ria que temos muitos dirigentes e poucos líderes, pois antes
de zelar pelo bem comum, luta para agradar os que lhe con-
duziram para a posição, como forma de preservar o cargo.
Em Moçambique quando ouvimos dizer que um di-
rigente foi destituído do cargo que ocupara, associamos ao
mau desempenho e nunca olhamos para os avanços positi-
vos que a organização que dirigia conhecera ou ate ao limite
de mandatos estabelecidos pelo regulamento da instituição.
Ser dirigente é estar sujeito a obrigações, ser um alvo
a abater e a homenagear, mas acima de tudo, é ser a orga-
nização, em tanto que os problemas da organização de-
vem estar em primeiro lugar, pois é dele que se esperam
as soluções, o progresso, e o envolvimento de todo órgão
directivo. O dirigente deve ser aquele que incube activi-
dades ao pessoal da organização, e quando estes não as
executam, ele deve ter capacidades e disponibilidade de
as executar, em nome dos que foram responsabilizados.
Vozes experientes afirmam que liderança é um
fenómeno hereditário, mas muitos confundem, pensan-
do que o poder também é hereditário O poder conquista-
se, e não se oferece, o poder esta na sociedade no geral,
porque não podemos ter um dirigente empresário que use
os seus próprios recursos para gerar lucros para Estado?
Naturalmente que esse dirigente será mal interpre-
tado aos olhos da sociedade, e o mesmo poderá ser um alvo
a abater por parte dos seus concorrentes, colegas e com-
panheiros. Quando este objectivo é realizado, aparecem em
público sentimentos de admiração e louvor pelo malogra-
do e realizações de actividades de reconhecimento são le-
vadas a cabo... Mas seja abstende-o ou homenageando-o,
o líder deve vestir a camisola da organização que dirige.

Nowadays, hardly we find leaders who fight for the com-
mon good of a community ... Say we have many leaders and few
leaders, for before care for the common good, to please fight
that led him to the position, so as to maintain the position.
In Mozambique, when we heard that an officer was dis-
missed from his office, associate with poor performance and
never look for the positive developments that the organization
knew, or ran up to term limits set by regulations of the institu-
tion.
Being a manager is subject to obligations to be shooting
targets and honor, but above all, is to be the organization in
both the problems of the organization should be first, for he is
expected solutions, progress and the involvement of any gov-
erning body. The leader must be one that incubate activities of
the staff of the organization, and when they do not perform, he
must have the capacity and willingness to execute on behalf of
those responsible.
Experienced voices argue that leadership is a hereditary
phenomenon, but many get confused, thinking that the power
is also hereditary power conquers himself, and is not offered,
the power in this society in general because we can not have a
business leader who uses their own resources to generate profits
for the state?
Naturally, this leader will be misunderstood in the eyes
of society, and you may be a target to be killed by their competi-
tors, colleagues and comrades. When this goal is accomplished,
appear in public feelings of admiration and praise for the de-
ceased and recognition of achievements of activities are car-
ried out ... But either abstain or honoring him, the leader must
wear the jersey of the organization drive.

The Mozambican Youth Vision Association recently

signed a memorandum of understanding with the National
Youth Council, an agency of the State advocating the is-
sues of youth in Mozambique The agreement and image
management of the association CNJ VJM, allowed more
disclosure of matters of concern to the youth on issues of the
journal Vision Info. Similar programs will allow use of the im-
age of the CNJ in all activities to be undertaken by VJM.

Foi no dia 9 de Julho de 2010, numa cerimónia pro-
movida pela associação HIXIKANWWE, Associação
Luta Contra a Pobreza e Visão Jovem Moçambicana, que
10 Casais seropositivos, oficializaram o seu casamento,
no salão de festas da Associação Luta Contra a Pobreza.

O evento foi testemunhado pelas Ministras da Justiça, Kátia Vanessa entre os Casais
Benvinda Levy, da Mulher e Acção Social, Yolanda Cintura e pela
Patrona do Projecto, a esposa do Presidente do Município da Ci-
dade de Maputo, Celestina Simango, entre outros Convidados.

Os casais que partilhavam o mesmo tecto já a

anos, não esconderam a satisfação de poder, peran-
te todos os convidados, assumirem oficialmente
o compromisso de viverem juntos por toda vida.
Ainda para homenagear os casados, as associações
Visão Jovem Moçambicana e Na Rota do Gospel vão re-
alizar, no mês de Agosto, um espectáculo de música góspel,
envolvendo vários grupos associados a esta organização.
A homenagem vai estender-se a Apresentadora de TV, Ká-
tia Vanessa, pelo seu empenho e o fundamental papel que
o seu programa “Palavras soltas” teve na vida das pessoas.

It was on July 9, 2010 in a ceremony sponsored by
the Association HIXIKANWWE, Association Against
Poverty and Youth Vision Mozambique, which 10 HIV-
positive couples, officiated their marriage in the ball-
room of the Association Fighting Against Poverty.
The event was witnessed by the Ministers of Jus-
tice, Benvinda Levy, Women and Social Action, Yolanda
Cintura and Patron of the Project, the wife of the Mayor
of Maputo City, Celestina Simango, among other guests.
The couples who shared the same roof for years now,
not hide the satisfaction of power, before all the guests, of-
ficially assuming the commitment to live together for life.
Still to honor the married, associations Mozambican
Youth Vision and Route on Gospel will perform in the month
of August, a show of gospel music, involving many groups as-
sociated with this organization. The tribute will extend to
TV presenter, Katia Vanessa, for his commitment and cru-
cial role that his program “loose words” had on people’s lives.

DUAS HISTÓRIAS RECENTES
DE EMPREENDEDORISMO
Nampula: os jovens que criam fran-
gos
A primeira história passa-se em Nampula, em Fever-
eiro. Depois de reuniões com o Magnífico Reitor Jorge Fer-
rão, da nova Universidade Lúrio, e com a sua equipa diri-
gente, fui convidado para jantar em casa duma família muito
interessante. Pai, mãe e três filhos menores receberam-me
com muito carinho e despertaram a minha curiosidade.
Que se passa? O pai chamou um dia o filho mais vel-
ho e sugeriu-lhe que criasse pintos. Ao filho do meio ficou
destinado dar comida aos pintos. A menina mais nova,
ainda uma criança, observa e aprende. O pai fez um texto,
com as regras de criação, alimentação e higiene, que passou
ao filho mais velho, respondendo às dúvidas que surgem.
Ao fim de oito semanas, os pintos, magicamente trans-
formados em frangos, são vendidos. Os resultados das ven-
das distribuem-se por três partes: uma parte para comprar
novos pintos, outra para a comida e a última é depositada na
conta bancária dos jovens. Quando estes forem para a uni-
versidade, aí estará o dinheiro para pagar propinas e livros.
Fiquei a pensar que este negócio, chamemos assim,
pode facilmente ser transformado num pequeno “franchising”
com um manual muito claro, e dar origem a dezenas de activi-
dades em Moçambique. Cruza-se com a fome e a necessidade
de comer, com o imenso desejo de estudar, com uma possibili-
dade de mostrar como o empreendedorismo, significando ini-
ciativa e dedicação, persistência e realismo, não é uma activi-
dade complicada, embora sim complexa, criativa e inovadora.
Este e outros modelos de “microfranchising “poderiam
ser útil a muitas famílias moçambicanas, gerar riqueza e au-
mentar o poder de compra. Passar de 40 a 80, 120 meticais por
dia, num primeiro momento, duplica ou triplica o rendimento,
aumenta a auto-estima e abre caminhos esperançosos de futuro.
América, África, Europa, Ásia: escolas auto-sus-
tentáveis
Vejo em África milhares de jovens a querer fazer
ensino superior. Normalmente fazem-no às custas da famí-
lia, ou já depois de estarem a trabalhar. Problemas que po-

dem constituir outras tantas oportunidades para a cria-
tividade e a inovação, terreno fértil do empreendedorismo.
Em Junho estive numa conferência em Wash-
ington onde debatemos o desenvolvimento através
do ensino superior da gestão e do empreendedorismo.
Chamou-me a atenção o conceito de escola auto-
sustentável. Suponham uma Escola integrada de Agro-
nomia e Veterinária, incluindo Turismo e Comércio.
Alem de sólida teoria, os alunos podem aplicar os seus
conhecimentos na agricultura e pecuária. Podem produzir
bens que são vendidos no mercado. A venda pressupõe por-
ventura canais de distribuição, negociações, lojas para gerir...
Mas a escola, situada no campo, pode também ter turismo ru-
ral, outra forma de preparar bons profissionais e fazer receitas.
A escola auto-sustentável é isso: não exige que Es-
tado, contribuintes, alunos e pais paguem o que não têm:
pode gerar receitar para equilibrar as despesas e gerar
um excedente, para reinvestir, Utopia? Nem por isso. Está
feito. Acessível, até na Internet. Vejam exemplos em fun-

Possível fazer em Moçambique? Por que não? Ensino
de qualidade e Empreendedorismo? Certamente do melhor.
TWO RECENT HISTORIES OF
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Nampula: young people who create
chickens
The first story takes place in Nampula, in February.
After meetings with the Rector Jorge Ferrao, the new Uni-
versity Lurio, and with his team manager, was invited to din-
ner at a very interesting family. Father, mother and three mi-
nor children were very dear to me and aroused my curiosity.
What’s happening? The father called a day the el-
dest son and you suggested to set up chicks. The middle
child was destined to feed the chicks. The younger girl,
still a child, watch and learn. The father made a text,
with the rules of breeding, feeding and hygiene, which
went to the eldest son, answering the questions that arise.
After eight weeks, chicks, magically turned into chickens
are sold. The sales results are divided into three parts: one part
to buy new chicks, the other for the food and the latter is de-
posited in the bank account of the young. While these are for
the university, there will be money to pay for tuition and books.
I think that this deal, so call it, can easily be trans-
formed into a “franchise” with a very clear manual and give
rise to dozens of activities in Mozambique. Intersects with
hunger and need to eat, with the immense desire to study,
with a chance to show how entrepreneurship, meaning initia-
tive and dedication, persistence, and realism is not a compli-
cated business, but rather complex, creative and innovative.
This and other models of “microfranchising” could
be helpful to many families in Mozambique, generate
wealth and increase purchasing power. 40-80 passing,
120 MZM per day, at first doubles or triples the yields, in-
creases self-esteem and opens avenues of hopeful future.
 America, Africa, Europe, Asia,: schools self-sustain-
ing
I see thousands of young people in Africa want
to make higher education. Usually they do so at the ex-
pense of the family, or after they are already working.
Other issues that may be many opportunities for creativ-
ity and innovation, fertile ground for entrepreneurship.
In June I was at a conference in Washing-
ton where he discussed development through high-
er education management and entrepreneurship.
Caught my attention the concept of school self-
sustaining. Suppose an integrated School of Agron-
omy and Veterinary, including Tourism and Trade.
Besides solid theory, students can apply their knowl-
edge in agriculture and livestock. They can produce goods
that are sold on the market. The sale probably involves chan-
nels of distribution, negotiations, shops to manage ... But the
school, located in the countryside, rural tourism can also have
another way to prepare good professionals and make recipes.
The school self-sustainable is this: does not require state
taxpayers, students and parents pay what they have: it can
generate revenue to balance the costs and generate a surplus
to reinvest Utopia? Not really. It is done. Accessible over the

not? Quality education and entrepreneurship? Surely the best.
ISCTEM STUDENTS STAGE IN BRAZIL
TWELVE students from various courses, including
Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Engineering, Higher In-
stitute of Science and Technology of Mozambique (ISCTEM)
followed trip recently to Brazil, where they will do a practi-
cal training for two months, the universities of that country .
According to him, Anna Caroline de Souza, Coordina-
tor of Marketing and Public Relations ISCTEM, the initiative
aims to offer beneficiaries an opportunity to interact with
Brazilian students, exchange experiences and ally them-
selves what they learned during the classroom practice in
Mozambique to Brazil. Thus, the group will be distributed
by several universities, according to the respective courses.
The ISCTEM is monitoring the whole process from the bu-
reaucratic issues inherent in travel, until the departure of students
to Brazil, including the process stage and return to their country.
Already in Mozambique, the students will present
what they have learned during the workshop to be orga-
nized by the scientific ISCTEM. This is the second time
that students of that institution of higher education mov-
ing to Brazil in order to do an internship. The first occurred
in 2009 involving one group of 14 third grade students.

DOZE estudantes de diversos cursos, nomeada-
mente Medicina Dentária, Farmácia e Engenharia In- Caro Anunciante
formática, do Instituto Superior de Ciências e Tecno-
logia de Moçambique (ISCTEM) seguiram viagem,
recentemente, para o Brasil, onde vão fazer um estágio práti- é com prazer que anunciamos que o
co durante dois meses, nas universidades daquele país.
Segundo disse, Anna Caroline de Souza, Coordenadora
presente anúncio serve para anunciar
de Marketing e Relações Públicas do ISCTEM, a iniciativa visa que este espaço é para o seu anúncio
proporcionar aos beneficiários uma oportunidade de intera-
girem com os estudantes brasileiros, trocar experiências e alia-
rem o que aprenderam durante as aulas teóricas em Moçam-
bique à pratica brasileira. Assim, o grupo será distribuído por
diversas universidades, de acordo com os respectivos cursos.
O ISCTEM está a acompanhar todo o proces-
so desde as questões burocráticas inerentes à via-
gem, até à partida dos estudantes ao Brasil, inclu-
indo o processo do estágio e o seu regresso ao país.
Já em Moçambique, os estudantes vão apresentar o
que terão aprendido, durante as jornadas científicas a serem
organizadas pelo ISCTEM. Trata-se, da segunda vez que estu-
dantes daquela instituição do Ensino Superior se deslocam
ao Brasil, a fim de fazer um estágio. O primeiro ocorreu em
2009, envolvendo um grupo de 14 estudantes do terceiro ano. Aqui, qualquer coisa é anúncio

“POBREZA É ESTRUTURAL” – Armando Guebuza

O Presidente do Partido Frelimo, Armando Guebuza, considera que as coisas em
Moçambique e nos países do Terceiro Mundo, em particular, estão estruturadas de tal manei-
ra que geram pobreza e ela afecta a todos mesmo aqueles que pensam que já não são pobres.
Falando numa reunião de secretários das Células do Partido e dos Comi-
tés de Círculo, que decorre na cidade da Beira, Guebuza afirmou que “a pobreza a
primeira coisa que faz é tirar a nossa auto-estima para passarmos a depender de
peditórios, ela não nos permite descobrir as técnicas para reproduzir a riqueza”.
O Presidente da Frelimo, Partido no poder em Moçambique, diz que há dois tipos
de pobreza que ainda afligem os moçambicanos no âmbito da luta contra a pobreza,
“nomeadamente a pobreza material, caracterizada pela falta de materiais básicos ou a
falta de capacidade financeira para termos acesso a esses materiais, e a pobre espiritual”.
“Há situações em que podemos ter dinheiro e não termos loja para comprar os
produtos e mesmo havendo barraca nem tudo esta lá”, acrescentou Guebuza, frisan-
do que “com a pobreza estrutural, o pais esta estruturado de tal forma que é pobre”.
O Presidente da Frelimo recorreu a letra do musico moçambicano Abílio
Mandlaze que, numa das suas obras artísticas, diz a dado momento que “O meu
pai criou-me vendendo bebida, juro palavra de honra eu vou morrer assim”, para
depois explicar que este musico já tinha uma visão sobre a pobreza de espírito.
“Não podemos admitir que se o pai, avo ou bisavô eram pobres eu tam-
bém vou morrer pobre. Quem pensa assim esquece que o seu bisavô e o avo não

sabiam ler nem escrever. Temos que libertar o espírito, trabalhar, trabalhar, tra-
balhar”, disse Guebuza, vincando ‘não pensemos nos outros, temos que pen-
sar em nos mesmos sobre como resolver os problemas, antes de estender a mão’.
Guebuza vincou que é preciso pensar nos recursos disponíveis “para
não perpetuarmos a pobreza material e de espírito. Temos que produzir e não
pedir, procurar fazer com que o amanha seja melhor que o dia de hoje, combat-
er a pobreza do espírito e virar o cenário e dizer que não vou morrer assim não”.

Nascida no dia 28
de Abril de 1979, na
província de Gaza,
Cidade de Xai-Xai,
viveu em Xai-Xai
durante 5 anos, e
depois veio para
cidade de Maputo.
Fez a pré em Xai-
Xai, e veio fazer a
primeira classe na
cidade de Maputo.
Tive uma infância muito car-
inhosa e delicada! Vivi com a minha
avó, tive momento muito bom com
ela, brincava descalça nas ruas do
bairro Nove, lá em Xai-Xai, são re-
cordações muito boas que eu tenho....
Quando pequena identificava-
me com a arte de falar muito e dançar,
também cresci numa família de diverti-
dos... Eu gostava de estar sempre pre-
sente em ocasiões festivas... Estar lá na
linha da frente, e isso marcou muito!
O meu falecido Pai era inspec-
tor do Ministério do trabalho, e minha
mãe tesoureira da Encatex, uma em-
presa privada, e também trabalhou
na fábrica de refeições que perten-
cia ao ministério do trabalho. O meu
pai faleceu quando eu tinha 10 anos...
A partir daí a minha vida mudou
completamente! Eu era uma criança
muito alegre, mas porque via outras
crianças com Pai, e eu não, ficava triste.
ESCOLA...
Estudei na escola Primaria Edu-
ardo Mondlane em Xai-Xai, Escola Pri-
maria 16 de Junho até a minha quinta

classe, depois passei para a es-
cola privada da Polana Cimento, Liceu
Polana, onde fiz 10ª e 11ª classes. A 12ª
Classe fiz na Cristóvão Colombro, aos 17
anos. Foi nessa altura que fiquei grávi-
da da minha filha, de um namoro que
durou 3 anos e tive a minha filha aos
18 anos, mas eu não gosto de falar so-
bre isso, porque é uma pessoa que não
tenho bom relacionamento com ele....
A VIDA E O TRABALHO...
Comecei a trabalhar na FACIM
com 14 anos, e eu não tinha experiência,
era na altura em que a FACIM durava
15 dias. Passei por grandes dificuldades
financeiras! Olha naquela altura quan-
do a minha mãe trabalhava na fábrica
de refeições, ela não comia aquela re-
feição que tinha direito, porque ela tin-
ha que trazer para mim e para a minha
filha, foram momentos dolorosos, sem-
pre vivi com a minha mãe, e continuo
a viver com ela, minha família é muito
grande, mas eu digo que a minha família
é muito pequena, eu, a minha mãe e os
meus dois filhos... Então foram momen-
tos com muitas dificuldades: a minha
família de Portugal oferecia-me roupas...
A TV...
Eu me inscrevi no programa do
falecido Victor José onde era um con-
curso para eu declamar poesia, e quando
fui não me dei bem. Em Tempos a TVM
era na Julius Nyerere, mas encontraram-
me no corredor e perguntaram-me se eu
não gostaria de fazer reportagens infan-
tis, eu YES, QUERO, QUERO... mas an-
tes participava em concursos infantis e
eu ganhava, então tive o meu contacto
com televisão com os meus 14 anos. Pa-
rei de fazer televisão quando a minha
filha nasceu e depois quis voltar a fazer
televisão, fui ter com o Dr. Simão An-
guilaze, ele deu-me a oportunidade de
ter formação em televisão, tenho cer-
tificado e tudo, logo após a formação
apresentei o programa continuidade da
TVM, e depois fiz o Gira música, TOP 10,
Moçambique da Sorte entre outros, este
ano completo 17 anos a fazer televisão.

televisão Comecei a trabalhar na Tele-
data como agente de Marketing e Rela-
ções Públicas, eu tinha que conciliar a
Televisão e a Teledata, e eu tinha falta
de tempo para conversar, mas eu gos-
tava da Televisão, fui mãe ausente, mas
graças a Deus sempre tive a minha
mãe a ajudar-me nos meus dois filhos.
SONHO
Sonho em Casar, mas falta o
grande amor da minha vida! Não estou
a procura, vai aparecer quando chegar
o momento ideal e oportuno, hoje em
dia o importante é estar feliz, se tiver
que viver maritalmente não tem prob-
lema, não tenho pressa e nem vergonha.

já tive oportunidade de trabalhar fora

and gentle! I lived with my grand-

LIDERANÇA
– sejá líder da sua própria vida!
Ainda me lembro do ano e da aula na faculdade em que
pela primeira vez abordamos de forma mais profunda o tema
“liderança”. Foi há pouco tempo, em 2006, estava eu no meu
terceiro ano da Faculdade de Educação, no meu curso de Psi-
cologia, já a fazer a especialidade de Psicologia Social e Orga-
nizacional, e este era um tema mais do que necessário para ser
incorporado no nosso currículo e interiorizado por nós, como
futuros cientistas sociais e organizacionais. A matéria, o con-
ceito e os aspectos ligados à liderança não poderiam ter sido
melhor aprendidos e apreendidos também se não fosse pelo
docente que passou isto para nós, de forma simples, directa
e concisa, que prendia de forma mágica a nossa atenção. E
eu pensava na altura “este professor está a liderar esta aula!”.
Bem, esta foi uma forma de introduz-
ir o tema que aqui vou retratar: a liderança.
Na definição de liderança, a maior parte dos especial-
istas concordam que ela é o processo de conduzir um grupo
de pessoas, transformando-o numa equipe que gera resulta-
dos. É a habilidade de motivar e influenciar os liderados, de
forma ética e positiva, para que contribuam voluntariamente
e com entusiasmo para alcançarem os objectivos da equipe e
da organização. E líder, em poucas palavras, é aquele em quem
se reconheçam motivos para ser ouvido, acatado e seguido.
Deve existir um líder em cada um de nós, consoante
a nossa posição, seja ela qual for. E isto pode ser observado
em qualquer área da vida, desde tenra idade. Já ocupamos
posições de liderança ao chefiarmos uma brincadeira com o
nosso grupo de amigos (“o João é que vai dizer quem é que
joga à frente e quem é que joga atrás” – o líder maior deste
grupo já está a atribuir outra liderança a um outro membro
do grupo, o que significa que a liderança não passa só pe-
las mãos de uma pessoa, num grupo, mas de mais pessoas
também, e que cada uma delas tem as sua tarefas por cum-
prir, com a liderança devida para a sua posição; a posição
que lhe atribuíram, que conquistou ou ainda a que ela
própria se atribuiu por consenso de todos ou da maioria).
Muitos especialistas acreditam que as pessoas têm pre-
disposições, ou coisas pelas quais elas são mais atraídas. Por ex-
emplo, eu posso ser mais predisposta a trabalhar em questões
estratégicas; mas as pessoas podem aprender técnicas que lhes
permitam participar plenamente de todos os domínios da lider-
ança. Eu posso aprender a gerir melhor os talentos ou a desen-
volver o capital humano. A pesquisa sobre liderança mostrou que
metade dessa capacidade é inata, é a nossa predisposição. A out-
ra metade representa coisas que podemos aprender e dominar.
Dave Ulrich, um dos maiores especialistas em gestão
de pessoas do mundo, acredita que alguns líderes tenham
perícia e sabedoria para influenciar os seus próprios chefes.
Isto significa que nem todos os líderes empresariais são “os

chefes”, “os patrões”, mas também podem ser os subordinados
a eles. Mas atenção, gerir os superiores é uma arte. Ela exige
que o subordinado saiba exactamente do que o chefe precisa e
saiba também demonstrar que pode ajudá-lo a alcançar o que
quer. “A influência de baixo para cima não se dá por cargo ou
tempo de empresa, mas por perícia e sabedoria, afirma Ulrich.
Para alguém se tornar um bom líder deve se perguntar
primeiramente se realmente quer liderar. A liderança tem o
seu preço. Ela exige o abandono da autonomia pessoal e de
alguns relacionamentos. Também pode exigir a aprendiza-
gem de novas técnicas, e pedir que o profissional assuma
riscos pessoais e profissionais. Depois, a pessoa deve se per-
guntar quais são as suas forças e fraquezas na liderança. Que
dimensões da liderança ocorrem mais naturalmente para
ela? Quais são as áreas em que pode ter sucesso gastando
menos energia? Por fim, é preciso se perguntar quais são os
resultados que mais deseja obter. Quem são as pessoas que
me seguem como líder? Como posso garantir que o meu tra-
balho supra as necessidades e expectativas dessas pessoas?
Bem, se não é fácil ser-se líder na área profissional, será
que também não é fácil ser-se líder da sua própria vida, na
área pessoal? Conhecer os seus pontos fortes e os seus pon-
tos fracos, assumi-los e tentar usá-los a seu favor. Liderar um
relacionamento afectivo de anos e anos com muito sucesso.
Liderar uma casa, um lar, uma família; fazer com que os seus
membros familiares o oiçam, respeitem e sigam o seu exem-
plo e a sua palavra. Liderar o presente que a cerca, saber que
o passado aconteceu e tirar dele os sucessos para o futuro e
os fracassos como uma experiência e aprendizagem para
se ter uma outra postura, outra atitude e comportamento…
Todo nós tentamos liderar a nossa vida e a dos out-
ros pelo menos uma vez na vida. Uns com muito sucesso,
fazendo uso da sua liderança carismática e aprendida e out-
ros sem o sucesso desejado, e talvez merecido; mas todos
lideramos! E então, como fazer para liderar a nossa própria
vida? Esta é uma pergunta que fica para a sua reflexão…KV

– a leader of his own life!
I still remember the year and college tuition for the
first time that we address in more depth the topic of “leader-
ship.” It was not long ago, in 2006 I was in my third year of
the Faculty of Education, in my Psychology course, already
making a specialty of Social and Organizational Psychol-
ogy, and this was more of an issue that needed to be incorpo-
rated into our curriculum and internalized by us as social
scientists and organizational future. Matter, the concept
and aspects of leadership could not have been better learned
and learned well if not for the teacher who passed it to us, in
simple, direct and concise, so magic that held our attention.
And I thought at the time “this teacher is leading this class.”
Well, this was a way to introduce
the theme that I portray here: leadership.
In defining leadership, most experts agree that it is the
process of conducting a group of people, turning it into a team
that generates results. It is the ability to motivate and influ-
ence team members, in an ethical and positive to contribute
voluntarily and enthusiastically to achieve the objectives of
the team and organization. And the leader, in a nutshell, is the
one who acknowledge reason to be heard, obeyed and followed.
There should be a leader in each of us depending on our
position, whatever it is. And this can be observed in any area
of life from an early age. Already occupy positions of leader-
ship to lead a joke with our group of friends (“Jones is going

INFLAÇÃO:
ACIMA DE 10 POR CENTO
NO PRIMEIRO SEMESTRE
A taxa de inflação em Moçambique situou-se nos 12.25
por cento no primeiro semestre deste ano, segundo um co-
municado do Comité de Política Monetária do Banco Central.
Este é um aumento muito acentuado em comparação
com a taxa regista em igual período de 2009. No primeiro se-
mestre do ano passado, os preços estavam praticamente es-
tacionários. A inflação, medida pelo Índice de Preço ao Con-
sumidor da cidade de Maputo, foi de apenas 0,33 por cento.
No seu comunicado, o Comité acrescenta que a taxa
de inflação anual (de 1 de Julho de 2009 a 30 de Junho de
2010) foi de 14,52 por cento. O valor equivalente em 2009
foi de apenas 2.65 por cento. Enquanto isso, a taxa média
móvel dos últimos 12 meses foi de 5.74 por cento no final de
Junho, em comparação com 4.75 por cento no final de Maio.
O Governo moçambicano tem estado a trabalhar no sen-
tido de garantir que a taxa de infracção não seja superior a 9,5
por cento até o final do ano. O Comité de Política Monetária
considera que o aumento da inflação deve-se ao fortalecimen-
to do Rand (moeda sul-africana) em relação a moeda moçam-
bicana, o Metical, e a subida do preço dos combustíveis (de-
pois de fixar um preço de combustível de 12 meses) e de água.
A taxa de câmbio Metical/Rand é crucial porque Moçam-
bique importa grandes quantidades de comida da África do Sul.
O Comité também anunciou que, após uma recuperação dos
preços no primeiro trimestre do ano, a maioria das principais
exportações de Moçambique sofreu queda dos preços em Maio.
No entanto, os preços de alguns produtos importantes
importados por Moçambique e com impacto na inflacçao
domestica caíram, nomeadamente o arroz, 6.8 por cento e
trigo 5,8 por cento. O preço dos combustíveis no mercado
internacional também recuou um pouco, sendo que o preço
do petróleo bruto Brent caiu em 10,2 por cento em Maio.
Reservas internacionais líquidas do país eram de 1.768 bil-
iões de dólares no final de Junho último, valor acima da
meta estabelecida para esse período, que era de 1.759 biliões.

The inflation rate in Mozambique stood at 12:25 per
cent in the first half of this year, according to a statement
from the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank.
This is a very sharp increase compared with the rate re-
corded in the same period of 2009. In the first half of last year,
prices were virtually stationary. The inflation, measured by the
Consumer Price Index of Maputo City, was only 0.33 percent.
In its statement, the Committee adds that the annual in-
flation rate (from 1 July 2009 to June 30, 2010) was 14.52 percent.
The equivalent amount in 2009 was only 2.65 percent. Meanwhile,
the rate moving average of the last 12 months stood at 5.74 per-
cent at the end of June, compared with 4.75 percent in late May.
The Mozambican government has been working to en-
sure that the crime rate does not exceed 9.5 percent by year’s
end. The Monetary Policy Committee believes that the rise in
inflation is due to the strengthening of the Rand (South African
currency) against the Mozambican currency, Metical, and ris-
ing fuel prices (after fixing a fuel price of 12 months ) and water.
The exchange rate Metical / Rand is crucial be-
cause Mozambique imports large quantities of food in
South Africa The Committee also announced that, follow-
ing a price recovery in the first quarter, most of the ma-
jor exports of Mozambique suffered falling prices in May.
However, prices of some major products imported by Mo-
zambique and impact on domestic inflation fell, including rice,
wheat 6.8 percent and 5.8 percent. The price of fuel in internation-
al market also declined slightly, while the price of Brent crude oil
fell by 10.2 percent in May. Country’s net international reserves
were 1768 billion dollars at the end of June this year, a figure above
the target established for that period, which was 1759 billion.

A Associação de Luta Contra o Cancro de Moçambique con-
sidera que a prevalência desta patologia no país tende a aumentar,
atingindo níveis preocupantes, apesar de não avançar números.
Segundo o médico-cirurgião Fernando Vaz, as mortes
causadas por esta doença apresentam, igualmente, uma
tendência crescente, mercê de dificuldades na sua preven-
ção, detecção precoce e tratamento. O cancro tem afectado
homens e mulheres de todas as idades, bem como crianças.
“No caso das mulheres, podemos dizer que os can-
cros mais frequentes, no nosso País são o do colo do
útero e o da mama, enquanto os homens têm sido mais
afectados pelos cancros da próstata e do fígado”, frisou.
Vaz acrescentou que “nas crianças têm-se registado
muitos casos de leucemias agudas. Outro cancro frequente é
o Sarcoma de Kaposi, que é uma situação de cancro da pele
que surge como consequência da infecção pelo HIV-Sida”.
A província de Inhambane é a que regista os índi-
ces mais altos de cancro de fígado. Para Vaz, Moçambique
necessita de recursos humanos, financeiros e tecnológi-
cos, nomeadamente pessoas formadas em prevenção e
tratamento, para além de equipamento que é muito caro.
“O equipamento é muito caro porque o trata-
mento do cancro, na maior parte das vezes, é feito
através da cirurgia, radiações e quimioterapia, inclu-
indo a hormonoterapia e a imunoterapia”, explicou.
Face a esta situação, Vaz garantiu que a sua agremiação
vai envidar esforços no sentido de conseguir meios necessários
para um tratamento mais eficaz desta doença, ao nível do País.
Por seu turno, a médica hemato-oncologista Pa-
trícia Silva, disse ser cometimento da organização que
dirige levar a cabo acções visando a diminuição da in-
cidência do cancro em todo País e a melhoria do aces-
so ao tratamento adequado e atempado desta patologia.

The province of Inhambane is one that notes the higher rates
of liver cancer. For Vaz, Mozambique needs human resources, fi-
nancial and technological, including people trained in prevention
and treatment, in addition to equipment that is very expensive.

treatment of cancer, in most cases, is done through
surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, including hor-
mone therapy and immunotherapy,” he explained.

em conta que esta Olimpíada continental proporciona-
rá ao país um legado infra-estrutural moderno e diversi-
ficado, já não estaremos em condições de fazer o nosso
desporto de forma amadora como o temos vindo a fazer.

tos, cuja cerimónia de abertura contou com a presença da

com que os organizadores se preocupem mais com a harmoni-
zação da calendarização dos eventos, pois a ideia é fazer com
que o público da capital e da província de manica, que estará
directamente em contacto com o a diversidade cultural nacio-
nal. Como disse o Ministro da Cultura, Armando Artur, este
festival realiza-se “num momento em que queremos reafirmar
perante nós mesmos a nossa moçambicanidade. E a cultura é
esse veículo aproximador e que nos permitirá essa reafirmação,
razão pela qual promovemos este festival”. Aliás, o evento re-
aliza-se num ano dedicado pela unesco à diversidade cultural.
