    SHORT REPORT

    Short reports are produced when the problem is 
    very well defined & if the scope is limited

       
    LONG REPORT

    This could be both a technical report as well as 
    non­technical report 

       
    FINAL REPORT

    The report prepared by the marketing manager to 
    be submitted to the Vice­President on quarterly 
    performance, reports on test marketing

       
    INFORMAL REPORT

    The report prepared by way of filling the shift log 
    book, to be used by his colleagues.

       
    GOVERNMENT REPORT

    These may be prepared by State Governments or 
    the Central Government on a given issue
