Rochester Labor Council, AFL-CIO Calls for Immediate Resignation of

Monroe Community College Trustees

(Rochester, NY) On Thursday evening, June 12, 2008, the Rochester Labor
Council, AFL-CIO (RLC) joined in solidarity with service, professional and
teaching employees at Monroe Community College (MCC) resolving that the
college's remaining 8 appointed trustees resign immediately.

Brought to the floor of the RLC by employees at MCC, members of the Civil
Service Employees Association (CSEA) and Faculty Association (FA), union
members representing trades throughout Monroe County voiced their
disappointment with the current MCC Trustees.

“Monroe Community College is nationally recognized as a crown jewel among

community colleges in our country. To risk MCC’s reputation and educational
value with such blatant political cronyism is inexcusable. We call
on the eight remaining MCC trustees to resign immediately,” stated Jim
Bertolone, President, Rochester Labor Council, AFL-CIO.

The Rochester Labor Council, AFL-CIO represents 65,000 union men and women working in
Monroe County.
