The Present Simple Tense


(Prosto sadasnje vreme)

Positive: S + V (inf./-s/-es)

1. I play
2. You play
3. He / She / It plays
*Ukoliko se gl. zavrsava na –s,-ss,-o,-x,-z-ch,-sh dodaje se nastavak –es!
*Ukoliko se gl. zavrsava na –y ispred kog se nalazi suglasnik, -y se pretvara u –i i onda se doda
nastavak –es: carry+es=carries

1. We play
2. You play
3. They play

Negative: S + don’t/doesn’t + V (inf.)

1. I don’t play
2. You don’t play
3. He / She / It doesn’t play
*Nastavak se gubi!

1. We don’t play
2. You don’t play
3. They don’t play

Questions: Do/Does + S + V (inf.)

1. Do I play?
2. Do you play?
3. Does he/she/it play?
*Nastavak se gubi!

1. Do we play?
2. Do you play?
3. Do they play?

*Vreme se koristi da oznaci uobicajenu radnju ili neku cinjenicu!


*Priloske odredbe: always, sometimes, never, often, usually, every day(month, year…), on Mondays
(Tuesdays, Wednesdays…)
The Past Simple tense
(Prosto proslo vreme)

Positive: S + V (inf.+ed)

I played football yesterday.


She listened to music.
They liked the show.

*Ukoliko se gl. zavrsava na –y ispred kog se nalazi suglasnik, -y se pretvara u –i i onda se doda
nastavak –ed: carry+ed=carried
*Ukoliko se radi o jednosloznom (kratkom) gl. dolazi do udvajanja zadnjeg suglasnika nakon cega se
dodaje nastavak –ed: stop+ed= stopped
*Ukoliko se gl. vec zavrsava na –e dodaje se samo –d: lie+d=lied

Negative: S + didn’t + V (inf.)

I didn’t play football yesterday.


She didn’t listen to music.
They didn’t like the show.

*Nastavak se gubi!

Questions: Did + S + V (inf.)

Did I play football yesterday?


Did she listen to music?
Did they like the show?

*Nastavak se gubi!

***Kod nepravilnih gl. se ne dodaje nastavak vec se uzima druga kolona iz liste nepravilnih gl. L, a
postupak za pravljenje odricnog i upitnog oblika je isti kao kod pravilnih gl. (gl. se takodje vraca u
infinitive)!

She told me a lie.


She didn’t tell me a lie.
Did she tell me a lie?

*Koristi se da izrazi kratku radnju koja se desila u odredjenoj proslosti!


*Priloske odredbe: yesterday, last month (year, weekend, Tuesday…), ago (six weeks ago, two
months ago…), in 1896 (konkretna godina)
The Simple Future Tense
(Prosto buduce vreme)

Postitve: S + will + V (inf.)

She will get an A.


You will help your mother.

Negative: S + won’t + V (inf.)

She won’t get an A.


You won’t help your mother.

Questions: Will + S + V (inf.)

Will she get an A?


Will you help your mother?

*Koristi se da izrazi radnju koja ce se desiti u buducnosti!


Priloske odredbe: tomorrow, next week (month, year…)
The Present Continuous Tense
(Sadasnje trajno vreme)

Positive: S + to be (am, is, are) + V (inf.+ing)

1. I am walking
2. You are walking
3. He/She/It is walking

1. We are walking
2. You are walking
3. They are walking

*Ukoliko se radi o jednosloznom (kratkom) gl. dolazi do udvajanja poslednjeg suglasnika pa se tek
onda dodaje nastavak –ing: put + ing = putting
*Ukoliko se gl. zavrsava na muklo –e, -e se brise pa se onda dodaje nastavak: make+ing=making,
shake+ing=shaking.

Negative: S + to be (am, is, are) + not + V (inf.+ing)

1. I am not walking
2. You are not walking
3. He/She/It is not walking

1. We are not walking


2. You are not walking
3. They are not walking

*is + not =isn’t


*are + not =aren’t

Questions: To be (Am, Is, Are) + S + V (inf.+ing)

1. Am I walking?
2. Are you walking?
3. Is he/she/it walking?

1. Are we walking?
2. Are you walking?
3. Are they walking?

*Koristi se da izrazi sadasnju radnju koja se desava u trenutku govora!


*Priloske odredbe: now, at the moment, today
The Past Continuous Tense
(Proslo trajno vreme)

Positive: S + to be (was/were) + V (inf.+ing)

1. I was reading
2. You were reading
3. He/She/It was reading

1. We were reading
2. You were reading
3. They were reading

*Ukoliko se radi o jednosloznom (kratkom) gl. dolazi do udvajanja poslednjeg suglasnika pa se tek
onda dodaje nastavak –ing: put + ing = putting
*Ukoliko se gl. zavrsava na muklo –e, -e se brise pa se onda dodaje nastavak: make+ing=making,
shake+ing=shaking

Negative: S + to be (was/were) + not + V (inf.+ing)


*was + not = wasn’t
*were + not = weren’t

1. I wasn’t reading
2. You weren’t reading
3. He/She/It wasn’t reading

1. We weren’t reading
2. You weren’t reading
3. They weren’t reading

Questions: To be (was/were) + S + V (inf.+ing)

1. Was I reading?
2. Were you reading?
3. Was he/she/it reading?

1. Were we reading?
2. Were you reading?
3. Were they reading?

*Koristi se da izrazi radnju koja je duze vreme trajala u proslosti!


*Priloske odredbe:
• While
I was reading a book while my brother was watching TV.
(dve uporednje radnje u proslosti koje su trajale duze)
• When
I was reading a book when I heard a screm.
(radnja koja je duze vreme trajala u proslosti i prekinuta je drugom kratkom radnjom u proslosti,
posle when uvek ide past simple)
• Konkretni trenutak
They were having dinner at seven o’clock yesterday.
(bas u tom trenutku je radnja trajala u proslosti)
The Future Continuous Tense
(Buduce trajno vreme)

Positive: S + will + be + V (inf.+ing)

I will be listening to the lecture tomorrow morning.


She will be playing after lunch.
They will be singing at the concert tomorrow.

Negative: S + won’t + be + V (inf.+ing)

I won’t be listening to the lecture tomorrow morning.


She won’t be playing after lunch.
They won’t be singing at the concert tomorrow.

Questions: Will + S + be + V (inf.+ing)

Will I be listening to the lecture tomorrow morning?


Will she be playing after lunch?
Will they be singing at the concert tomorrow?

*Koristi se da izrazi ranju koja ce neko vreme trajati u buducnosti!


The Present Perfect Tense
(Sadasnje proslo vreme)

Positive: S + have/has + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))

1. I have played
2. You have played
3. He/she/it has played

1. We have played
2. You have played
3. They have played

Negative: S + haven’t/hasn’t + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))


*have + not = haven’t
*has + not = hasn’t

4. I haven’t played
5. You haven’t played
6. He/she/it hasn’t played

4. We haven’t played
5. You haven’t played
6. They haven’t played

Questions: Have/Has + S + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))

1. Have I played?
2. Have you played?
3. Has he/she/it played?

1. Have we played?
2. Have you played?
3. Have they played?

*Koristi se da izrazi radnju koja se desila u neodredjenoj proslosti ali je ostavila posledicu na
sadasnjost!
*Priloske odredbe: never, ever, already, yet, just, for, since.
The Past Perfect tense
(Davno proslo vreme)

Positive: S + had + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))

7. I had played
8. You had played
9. He/she/it had played

7. We had played
8. You had played
9. They had played

Negative: S + hadn’t + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))


*had + not = hadn’t

10. I hadn’t played


11. You hadn’t played
12. He/she/it hadn’t played

10. We hadn’t played

12. They hadn’t played

Questions: Had + S + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))

4. Had I played?
5. Had you played?
6. Had he/she/it played?

*Koristi se da izrazi radnju koja se desila u proslosti pre neke druge prosle radnje!
We came to the station, but the train had already left.
(Dosli smo na stanicu, ali voz je vec otisao.)
The Future Perfect Tense
(Buduci perfekat)

Positive: S + will + have + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))

I will have finished my homework by the end of the night.


They will have built that building by the end of the year.

Negative: S + won’t + have + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))

I won’t have finished my homework by the end of the night.


They won’t have built that building by the end of the year.

Questions: Will + S + have + V (inf.+ed / past participle(treca kolona))

Will I have finished my homework by the end of the night?


Will they have built that building by the end of the year?

*Koristi se da izrazi radnju koja ce se zavrsiti u buducnosti u nekom odredjenom roku!


I will have finished my homework by the end of the night?
(Zavrsicu domaci do kraja veceri.)
Going to konstrukcija

Positive: S + to be (am, is, are) + going to+ V (inf.)

I am going to clean the room.


She is going to wash the dishes.
They are going to do their homework.

Negative: S + to be (am, is, are) + not + going to+ V (inf.)

I am not going to clean the room.


She isn’t going to wash the dishes.
They aren’t going to do their homework.

Questions: To be (am, is, are) + S + going to+ V (inf.)

Am I going to clean the room?


Is she going to wash the dishes?
Are they going to do their homework?
