Section 3

The ‘I’ and self are in Unity. The self, or Body acts in accordance with the ‘I’ to establish the Balance
Point between the altruistic needs of the ‘I’ and the bodies own mechanistic material needs. At this
stage the ‘self’ will even sacrifice itself in order to achieve the altruistic realisations of the ‘I’. The
unity of the ‘I-Self’ is a manifestation of the realisation of ‘existence’ and lowers the ‘Veil’ from
knowledge of Co Existence, (the essential altruistic needs of others). At this stage the person knows I
and I, is equal to you! This stage of growth is the formation of a real ‘Person or identity’, that reflection
of the ‘I-Self’ which represents the ‘I-Self’ in the world. This Person would be a true reflection of the
‘I-Self’ in being a true Man or Human, meaning Woman, for what is Woman, is it not HU MAN, (HU,
as in the sound of Breath, the sign of Life, not as HUE Man) is not this ‘the Man’ who ‘gives’ Life, and
companion to ‘the Man’ who takes Life!
The next step is the unifying of the identity and Person with the World. Through Education my
existence and co existence may come into Unity. Man and Human may come into Unity.

Symbolised by;
BEHAVIOURAL EXISTENCE.
In the previous sections I dealt with the external factors and influences impacting on the Black Identity.
This section seeks to explore the psychological influences which shape the Black Identity’s response to
the collective onslaught on its value and existence. I examine the concepts and processes involved in
self- empowerment using a Behavioural Existence model, through which I have identified some
essential factors and their influence on the process of empowerment. These were then used to prepare a
flow chart as a visual aid to these thought processes.
Self- expression, is used as a rallying cry by the ‘oppressed’, the un-represented and the Liberal
Groups and within our own black community, this call is echoed. The meaning of this call / c- all, as
expressed by the differing desires of these groups, is difficult to understand, yet it is seen by many as
the ‘Panacea’ to many ills affecting the black community. It may seem contradictory to a ‘stranger’ that
though we:-
Sing our songs in our own way,
Wear our own clothes designed by us,
Vote for the Government of our choice,
Complain as loud and as often as we like.
Shop in the stores of our choice etc.
Do we understand what we are really seeking? Self – expression = expression from / of self /. What is
it that we require to be expressed from self? Some people seem i/ to think that this is limited to a
‘mechanistic’ii / me- can –is tic / , mechanicaliii / me – can – I –c- all / , activityiv / act – live – I ty /
.This type of dancing and singing activity some think will fulfil the need in us.
However it can be seen that Human ‘mechanistic’ activity can be of two kind, the first is an indication
of a need created by our ‘instinctive creativity’, as when we shiver when we are cold. We shiver in
order to demonstrate / generate a desire / want for heat. The other is when the activity is used to hide
insincerity, for example in the saying, ‘Beware of Greeks bearing Gifts’, where the mechanistic act of,
the bearing of gifts, hides emotional insincerity and wanton desire. This self-expression will be of little
or no value if it does not satisfy our fundamental needs. I believe that what we need is more
empowerment in order to influence our communal development.
I have chosen to start with ‘Behaviour’, which is a willed or purposeful intention. Behaviour is driven
by intention and occurs as a means to achieve / realise v/ real – eyes / an intended, willed outcome.
The behaviour due to mechanistic wants i.e. hunger, cold, thirst and so on, can be considered as
‘instinctive’ / selfish
The behaviour due to ‘Altruistic’ vi/ all – true – is – tic / creativity i.e. friendship, charity, loyalty etc.
are willed, selfless, intentions.
Intention or, will, is used as a way to direct action / activity towards the achievement of the ‘wanted’
outcome.
The words ‘needed’ / ‘wanted’ / ‘desired’/ enables us to recognise another motivating factor, namely
‘Creativity’. For there to exist a ‘need ’, something must have required it, or have generated it. The
only thing that requires ‘want’ is that which conceived / created / imagined it. This is be identified as
‘Creativity’, or personified as, ‘The creative Self’ or ‘Creative Spirit’.
This view enables the formation of a series of events through which it can be seen that,
Creativity, guides our will / intention towards action / activity / behaviour, which will result in the
materialisation and neutralisation of the ‘want/need’.
To repeat it another way,
The union of, ‘want’ plus ‘Materialisation / neutralisation’ = Fulfilment / Happiness.
This means that when the ‘Creative need’ is able to be expressed by the ‘materialisation’ of the ‘need’,
i.e. the want is satisfied, it leads to a feeling of fulfilment and happiness.
The concept of the ‘creative self’ is necessary in order to illustrate that, behaviour is just a
‘visualisation’ of the creative self, either of its Mechanistic Creative Self or its Altruistic Creative Self.
Behaviour can be understood as a visible expression of the creative self‘s ‘implementation’ / Tool, for
the materialisation of its ‘wants’. If these wants are not ‘realised’ the ‘behaviour’ can change and no
longer be constructive or creative and ‘unhappiness’ results.
See FIG 4 ‘The Ideal Natural Balance Point’. In this figure I have illustrated the altruistic and
mechanistic forces as the arms of a balance scale, ethics forms the pivot, whilst behaviour is
represented as a reflection of ethical beliefs and depicted as a pointer on a scale of acceptable social
behaviour.

MASTER AND STUDENT.

In our society people can also be identified by their behaviour. This behaviour acts as an implement
constructed for the expression of our creative self / creativity. Thus our identity is directly related to the
fulfilment of our creative self, our creativity.
WHO ARE WE?
ARE WE THAT WHICH OUR CREATIVITY MADE?
From this perspective, the ‘identification’ of creativity is of the up most / utmost / importance to a
person, for it follows that;
Identification of the creative self enables it to be ‘Realised’
Realisation of the creative self leads to creation or re-creation of personal identity.
A Personal Identity, leads to greater affinity to behaviour.
Behavioural activity enables the realisation / fulfilment of ‘want’.
Fulfilment of want allows us to be happy.
Happiness enables us to establish ‘Truth’
Truth, the eternal, the only manifestation which is unaffected / unchanged by Time. It is a common
saying that ‘The deeds of Mankind are writ on the Scrolls of Life’, is creativity the only script through
which mankind can ‘write on the Scrolls of Life? can establish ‘Truth’?
I ask the questions,
‘Can a master achieve success without the creativity of the student ‘?
‘Can the student become a master before the creative self or creativity is controlled’?
‘Can a Master become the Student’s, ‘student’ and can the student become the Master’s, ‘master’?

ALTRUISM OR MECHANISM
i

seem - see – m, ‘me see’. What I want to believe not necessarily the truth or reality.
ii

‘mechanistic -can be- me- can –is tic= a me can, illusion. i.e. realistic, to appear real.
iii

, mechanical –can be - me – can – I –c- all=the me can see all, illusion.

iv

Activity – can be - act – live – I ty= a live act by humans, animals or plant. Machines, have motion.
v

Realise – can be real – eyes= seen with the great eye of the mind.
vi

‘Altruistic’ – can be- all – true – is – tic =it’s always /all ways, true.
