Instructions
1) To do image transfer, you will need to use a photocopier machine
because the image is transferred by heat from a drum roller. What you
will be doing is to release the image by heat facilitated by a alcohol. i.e.
Reverse the process

2) Prepare a piece of clay, slightly larger than the image used.

Remember, the image will be a horizontal mirror image when transferred
to the clay. So, you must flip the picture around on your PC before photo
copying the paper.

3) Turn the paper upside down and use medicated oil or the alcohol GIN
to wet the back of the paper. Try not to use too much of the oil, else the
ink will smudge when you place on the clay.

4) Place the paper face down on the clay. Use a hair dryer to heat up
the paper. Do this till the oil has more or less evaporated.

Instructions
5) Once the paper is try, gentle remove the paper from the clay. And put
the clay into the oven to bake for 15 minutes.

6) See the finished product on the left.

7) The alternative way of transferring images is to use a transfer

medium like Liquid Sculpey. This works well with only certain types of
paper. e.g. National Geographic Magazine paper works well, because of
the wood fibre.

8) Spread the liquid thinly onto a piece of glass, place the image face
down onto the liquid. And bake at 130 degree for 15 minutes.
Thereafter, just peel off the paper and attach the gel piece onto your clay
piece. The thickness of the gel and temperature affects the transparency
of the image transfer. For this method, the is no need to flip the image
horizontally. i.e. No mirror effect.
