Instructions:
○ Print and write your name on this paper lab.
○ Do all your math in pencil on this paper lab. If you need more space, write on the back.
○ In Week 7, you will have 60 minutes to record your answers in Angel and submit the paper
lab.
○ For each question you fail to show your IP math on the paper lab will decrease
your score (for that question) by 50%. Even easy binary-to-decimal conversions should
show your math used to achieve the answers.
○ Work on it a little at a time. As you move through the textbook and online assessments, you
will gain skills to complete the problems. Do a good job on this one since it is worth twice as
much (double value) as the other labs.
○ Feel free to work in teams of no more than 2. Feel free to tutor other students but DO NOT
give your answers away.
○ Pay close attention to the following:
Chapter 6, Addressing the Network: IPv4.
Chapter 9 (p. 328-330), Hexadecimal Numbering & Addressing.
Chapter 10 (p. 391-398), Calculating the Subnets.
○ Look over the PowerPoints from Intro to Networking (located in Lessons/Student
Materials/PowerPoints next to Chapter 6 PowerPoint).
○ A couple great sites (as of 10/08) are www.learntosubnet.com and
