Another common STD, genital herpes, is a caused

by a virus, not by bacteria.
This diseases is different from those discussed so
far in the another way, to it is not known to
cause internal organ damage.
 The blisters can occur in several areas of the
body:
On the penis.
In a around the vaginal areas.
In the mouth or on the lips.
On the thighs or the abdomen.
Around or in the anus.
Potential complications and preventions measures

Recurrence, herpes eye infection, infections of the

newborn during birth.

Abstinence from sexual intercouse, mutual monogamy

with uninted partner, some protection provided by
condoms only if sores are absent from groing and thighs.
 Hepatitis B.

A less common but highly dangerous STD isThe

blisters can occur in several areas of the body:
hepatitis b. Teenagers often fall victim to this virus.
Once in the body, hepatitis b attacks the liver,
causing severe illness. It can lead to incurable liver
cancer and death later on. The word hepatitis means
inflamation of the liver.

 By having sexual activity with an infected person.

 By sharing a needle with an infected in travenous drug
abuser.
 By receiving a tattoo or having ears or other body parts
pierced with unsterilized equipment.
 Less likely, by receiving infected bood from a blood
transfusion.

fever, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, muscle and joint
pain, cough, sore throat, dark urine, jaundice,
tender liver.

Potential complications and prevention measures

Chronic liver diseases, liver damage (cirrhosis), potential

for developmentof the liver cancer.
An effective vaccine is available and recommended
during adolescence. Avoidance of intimate contact with
infected persons (spread through infected blood, body
fluit saliva, and breast milk), abstinence from sexual
intercourse and from use of intravenous drugs.
