Analysis Questions

1. Generally, my predictions were spot on with the results that my group received in the experiment. For
Protein of every substance, our predictions were almost completely the same as the test results. In terms
of Glucose, Starch and Lipid, the test results were both Positive and Negative depending on the substance
but the predictions were very similar.
2. The predictions for the Egg Whites were the only substance that actually had 100% of the predictions
correct with the actual Test Results. The Egg Whites in Protein solution was Positive (our prediction was
positive), in Glucose it was Positive (prediction was positive), in Starch it was Negative and we also said
Negative and Lipid was Positive with our prediction being positive as well.
3. Liver was the only substance that contained every substance that we had tested for. Each substance after
going through each procedure diligently showed that Liver had every substance included. Every other
substance had either 1 or 2 substances as Negative meaning that the substance is not included in the
solution.
4. Good sources of protein, on the basis of my tests are Milk, Liver and Egg Whites. For Glucose, Egg Whites,
Liver, Apple and Milk all contain a good amount of Glucose. In terms of Starch, Potato, Liver, and Apple all
contain enough starch to be considered significant. For fats (lipids), every substance EXCEPT for Potato
and Apple contain Fats when tested.
5. In terms of the substance actually affecting the results simply due to the original color does have an affect
on the test results. Although it is possible that for Positive or Negative the results may be darker or lighter
due to the original color already in place, the actual result will clearly be either Positive or Negative, If we
were to say that the color completely detracts from the experiment then it would be the same as saying
that there is truly no correct way of testing the substance.
