    About Suzan MutesiSuzan Mutesi (born Suzan Faith Mutesi Mufumbiro, June 21, 1986) is a Ugandan-Australian actress, model and fashion designer. She has an upcoming feature movie and also acted in Moon Rock on Monday. Now she has written a book about her younger self, she wants humanity to consider how they spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Growing up she let her thoughts and other’s negative voices to affect her confidence. In fear of rejection, she hid away her quirks and beauty spots. She did not feel good enough, worthy to be accepted or to even belong. So she wrote this book to other young kids to encourage them to be unapologetically themselves.

      My name is Tabitha, and I have just turned 13!

      As puberty sets in, I see myself transforming into unrecognizably timid, cautious, and risk-averse version of my former self, just like some other girls.

      Please call me Tabs! It's short of Tabitha, and that is what everyone in school calls me. My grandmother calls me Tabisa- She emphasis the ‘tha’ with her African accent.

      Jambo

      I was born in Australia, so you could say I am afro – Oz. I prefer saying I am of African background. Mum and Dad were born in East Africa, but both are Australian citizens now.

      I am proud to say Africa is my home and we do visit home quite often.

      But enough of myself and my shenanigans.

      Right now, I am almost late for school! I need to check my bag to make sure that I have got everything I’ll need for the day. Let’s see what I have in my bag…my books and writing materials, a small bottle of Vaseline for my ashy skin and a tube of lip gloss just in case my lips get dry. I definitely need an Afro-comb and spare headbands in case my afro breaks the one I have on! Oh, and a bottle of deodorant.  I do not want to give off a bad smell.
