Routine political business is of course a matter for you and your Council to deal with However, | am alarmed by recent developments which could easily destabilise the Council's recovery. These come at a time when councillors should be focusing on setting a coherent budget and on the strategic integration with Gwynedd which you endorsed before Christmas. To me, this indicates that the issues your Council has had in the past in relation to internal disputes and personal rivalries have still not gone away. | have therefore also commissioned my Recovery Board to give me an urgent and frank evaluation of the actual progress your Council has made over the past 18 months and the Possibility of your achieving a sustainable recovery. If | and the Board feel the recovery is unlikely then | will take further decisive action.
