The Mississippi Wing participated in the annual “Wreaths Across America” Ceremony on
Saturday December 13, 2008 at the National Veterans Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. The event

has become an annual special event across the entire country for the Civil Air Patrol. Chap-
America lain Major Ken Stevens served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event and the keynote
address was delivered by Capt. David “Hank” Rogers of the Col. Berta Edge Composite
Annual Christmas 2 Squadron in Biloxi. The Honor Guard for the ceremony was provided by the Gulfport High
School Marine Corps Junior ROTC.
Luncheon
During the formal wreath laying ceremony, representatives of all Branches of the military
and the Merchant Marines placed specially designed wreaths at the Veterans Memorial to

honor deceased members of their respective Branch. Several members of the Mississippi
cer Comments Wing of Civil Air Patrol served in support roles before, during and after the formal cere-
mony. Many members assisted in the laying of wreaths on several gravesites of deceased

veterans. Chaplain Major Ken Stevens personally placed a wreath at the gravesite of his
Wreaths across brother, MRCS Clyde Marvin Stevens, a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Also at-
America (Photos) tending the ceremony were several representatives of the Mississippi Patriot Guard Riders,
