Introduction

The minimum equilibrium solution

temperature for practically equal volumes
of aniline and oil sample.

So Aniline Point is actually a

temperature.
Importance
Aniline is an aromatic compound.
It becomes miscible with
an oil by dissolving
aromatic compounds
present in it.
So it gives us an idea
about the aromatic
contents of any fuel or
oil.

Experimental Work (Cont.)

Procedure
Equal volumes of aniline and diesel sample were taken in
round bottom tube and a cork was fitted on it.

A thermometer and stirrer were inserted in the tube through

cork holes and tube was immersed in water bath

Heat was supplied until aniline and diesel sample became

miscible

Heat source was removed immediately and the contents were

allowed to cool

Temperature ( Aniline point) was noted when cloudiness

appeared in the mixture due to separation of two layers
