GREETINGS: We are gathered here to offer our prayers and songs for the repose of the soul of
our dear ________ who has passed away from this world. Likewise extend our
sincere condolence and sympathy to the members of the family , friends and
relatives who are joining in this very glorious memento.

LEADER: Our life with all that we are and have is not ours to possess for it is entrusted to us by God. It is a
loan from Him not to be kept but to work with the best we can.

friend, and a good Christian.

As we offer our prayers, we pray that God will lead our dear brother into the everlasting peace
and joy in heaven and may be an inspiration to our community in his his/her life service to God
and neighbor.

LET US PRAY: O God, our creator and Redeemer, grant unto the soul, grant unto the soul of
our departed _______ and unto the souls of the faithful departed the remission of
all their sins and that by our pious supplication, they may obtain the pardon which
they always desired.

Be merciful we beseech you, O Lord, on the souls of the faithful departed, especially on the soul
of ________ for whom we offer you this sacrifice of praise , humbly beseeching your majesty
that by this Holy and propitiatory offering, they me be fund worthy to win everlasting rest,
through Christ, your Son , who with You, live and reigns in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One

LET US PRAY: God of Mercy and compassion, no one is safe from death, the seeds of death are implanted in
life. Even your only Son had to pass through the dark valley of death. But we know that on
the third day he rose from the dead and is now sharing in your glory. And so we pray with
fullest trust: Give our brother _________ the place which your Son has prepared for Him.
Let him share in your everlasting life , joy and peace on account of him who died for us,
Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever. AMEN.

FIRST READING: A reading from the book of Wisdom 3:1-9

But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of
the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us to be
their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of
immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them
worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt-offering he accepted them. In
the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern
nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them forever. Those who trust in him will understand
truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches
over his elect.

buried in the ground then it gives more than itself: it brings a whole harvest.

Jesus said to His disciples: Now the hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified. I tell you most
solemnly, unless wheat grain falls on the ground and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies, it yields a
rich harvest. Anyone who loves his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If a man serves me, he must
