A Detailed Lesson Plan in Math 4

I. Objective: At the end of the lesson, 75% of the Grade 4 pupils are expected to:
1. name different kinds of angles such as right angle, acute angle and obtuse angle
2. construct different kinds of angles
3. participate actively in group activity

an angle? An angle has two parts: the sides and the
vertex.

of an angle. Let’s have a contest, group
yourselves according to your color. The
winners in the contest will have a prize.

Correct! This angle is what we call an obtuse
angle.

Now class, how will we know that the measure
of an angle is 900? What tool will we use to
measure an angle? Use a protractor.

Class do you know how to use a protractor? No!

To measure an angle, place the arrow of the


protractor at the vertex of the angle and the Pupils do so.

So, looking at your classmates what kind of
angles did they form? Acute angle, right angle and obtuse angle
Are the angles the same? No!
Do they have the same measurements? No!

4. Generalization:
What are the three different kinds of angles? Right angle, Acute angle, Obtuse angle
What is a right angle? An angle that measures 90o
What is an acute angle? An angle that measures less than 90o

What is an obtuse angle? An angle that measures greater than 90o

5. Application:

Look at the drawing on the board. Name as


many angles as you can find. Tell whether the
angle is right, obtuse, or acute.
