All the characters in the film namely King of Qin, Broken Sword, Flying Snow ,
Long Sky, Nameless and even Moon have the qualities of a leader. I may say that
they are all leaders in their own respective rights. However, I am constrained to
prefer Nameless as the emerging leader in the Film. Nameless possesses a
remarkable characteristic of a great leader which is self-sacrifice. While he has
mastered the technique "Death at Ten Paces", which allows him to strike precisely
within distance and he has the opportunity to kill the King of Qin, but despite these
advantages he possessed he decided in favor of China's unification, thereby
abandoning his plan to destroy the King of Qin and diverted his it towards peace
and unity. Not all leaders are like Nameless who can sacrifice everything even its
own life for the betterment of many. Some leaders believed that vengeance is more
important than unity, peace and harmony. Others subscribed to more anarchic
method of leadership. While leadership is learned, the skills and knowledge
processed by the leader can be influenced by his attributes or traits, such as
beliefs, values, ethics, and character. Knowledge and skills contribute directly to the
process of leadership, while the other attributes give the leader certain
characteristics that make him unique. In the film, Nameless demonstrated an
exceptional leadership skills, from being a deadly assassin he transformed into an
effective unifier of China. His sense of direction and strong vision for the future
made him a true leader and a hero as well.
