Educator Information
School Matinee Performances
Through School Matinee Performances, the Performing Arts Center provides non-profit arts organizations a deeply
discounted rental rate, and in return they provide an opportunity for K-12 students to attend performances during the
school day.
How to participate:
Send an e-mail of interest to YOPAC at yopac.pacstudents@gmail.com, or contact Melody Klemin, Marketing &
Outreach Coordinator, at mrklemin@calpoly.edu. Please state the name and type of your organization.
Transportation Scholarships
Through the Transportation Scholarship Program, Youth Outreach for the Performing Arts Center (YOPAC) hopes to
increase student access to performing arts events by removing or alleviating a major economic barrier (transportation
costs) that prevents schools from attending performances. The program provides scholarships to schools
demonstrating financial need to offset all or part of the transportation costs associated with attending a school
matinee performance at the Performing Arts Center (PAC).
How to apply:
Visit the YOPAC website at www.pacstudents.org and click on the link for YOPAC Transportation Scholarship
Application 2010-11. Return the completed application by mail to Melody Klemin, Marketing & Outreach
Coordinator at the Performing Arts Center.
Professional Development Workshops
YOPAC provides a series of professional development workshops for area teachers bringing classes to School Matinee
Performances. Each workshop centers on a particular matinee performance and includes standards-based learning
and hands-on activities in the four main art forms.
See pacstudents.org for 2010-11 Workshop Session Dates.
