Y Y N N N Preventive-Care Fund: Members voted, 236


-183, to repeal the new health-law’s
Prevention and Public Health Fund, which is
designed to provide nearly $18 billion over
eight years for state and community
preventive-care, or wellness, programs. A yes
vote was to send HR 1217 to the Senate.
N N Y Y Y Wellness Fund for Seniors: Voting 189-234,
members defeated a motion by Democrats to
require that HR 1217 (above) keeps the
health-law’s Prevention and Public Health
Fund in operation for seniors. A yes vote was
to continue funding wellness programs for
older Americans.
Y N N N Y Final 2011 Budget: Members voted, 260
-167, to fund federal discretionary-spending
programs for the remaining five-plus months
of fiscal 2011 at an annualized level of $1.365
trillion. A yes vote was to send the Senate a
bill (HR 1473) cutting $38 billion from 2010
spending levels.
Y Y N N N Planned Parenthood: Members voted, 241
-185, to end federal funding this fiscal year of
Planned Parenthood, a private organization
that provides healthcare for women at 800
clinics nationwide. A yes vote was to void
$363 million in appropriations for Planned
Parenthood. (H Con Res 36)
N Y Final 2011 Budget: Senators joined the
House, 81-19, in passing a bill to fund the
government through Sept. 30 at a yearly level
of $1.365 trillion in discretionary spending. A
yes vote was to send President Obama a
bipartisan budget containing $38 billion in
spending cuts. (HR 1473)
